This bar/restaurant haz a lovely feel about it. There is a small bar with an open fire. Speciality food..pies. A variety of pies to choose from including vegetarian fillings. The supplier provides the uncooked pies and the bar cook them. We were told exac
The food here is great with excellent pies. Limited selection with as many vegetarian options as meat. But enough that you will find something to like. Cash only which is unusual nowadays. The banter - well it is potentially unacceptable nowadays so wear a thick skin. I did enjoy the food though and the mushy peas are a proper portion.

After reading Tripadvisor reviews we booked this restaurant for an early evening meal with two children.Staff were very welcoming. The menu was varied with homely choices and we all enjoyed the soup/ burgers and chilli. The portions were a good size only the kids managed deserts. We would recommend, prebook if you can because we found it busy on a Thursday evening.

Had a lovely lunch in their sunny courtyard before heading to Carounn Distillery for a tour - 10 min drive away (highly recommend it). I had the Merchants platter and partner had a bagel. Been before for coffee when it was winter and had fire going so was nice to sit outside for a change - both experiences really nice. My only point would be that the price of the bagel it would be nice to get a small side salad as well as the crisps as we felt £8.50 was on the expensive side for what it was. My platter was nice but again one slice of bread (cut in half ) wasnât enough but they gladly provided me with another slice. It was certainly busy for a Tuesday - glad we arrived when we did to get a seat outside. Saw others having a glass of wine - would have been so nice if I wasnât driving. Friendly, pleasant staff

Wonderful!Leg of lamb falls off the bone. Veggies local, fresh. Brilliant. The setting cannot be beat. Beautiful linens, beautiful dining room. Small, intimate ... but grand at the same time. Sticky toffee pudding was to die for as well as the chocolate torte. Good wine selection. Very reasonable for a fantastic three-course meal.Treat yourself and get a table if you can!

My wife and I repeatedly tried for a table here to no avail during our week long stay, we finally secured one on the last night of our 7-night stay and couldn't see what all the fuss was about. The atmosphere in the restaurant wasn't particularly friendly and if anything was a bit pretentious.Their pizetta starter was a complete joke like a tasteless square served at a kids party. The Salmon main was beautifully presented but again disappointing and bland.

The Heather centre was virtually destroyed by fire and has managed to survive over the past 3 years utilising what remained. A lovely tea room serving homemade food, very tasty sandwiches! The red squirrel arrives at regular intervals and there are lots of woodland birds to be seen. A small garden centre remains with unusual plants. Lots of unusual garden pots to be had and an antique shop. The new place will open in August (fingers crossed) and will be amazing !! Good luck with the new venture and will see you all in August, new build or not.

Stayed at local campsite nearby with my girlfriend and decided to have a fancy meal on our last night. The Mount view restaurant had a nice atmosphere, very friendly staff and the food was so rich and flavorful. I had pigeon to start and venison accompanied by a chocolate panna cotta, easily one of the fanciest meals I have ever had. Would highly recommend
