My wife and I dropped in without a reservation to grab lunch en route north. We were the only customers in the pleasant conservatory and the service was naturally quick. Good leek soup (£4.10) followed by the daily special, chicken in a barbecue sauce (£10.95) with chips. Glasses of wine are provided in mini bottles (£2.10). We paid just £34.50 for two which was reasonable for a quick, solid lunch. Only complaint was re. The coffees (£2.10 each) which were tasteless.

Visited twice recently and second visit as good as the first. Had lunch both times and found the 2 course lunch menu great value and went on to have dessert etc. Food presented beautifully and was as good as it looked. Staff so pleasant and accommodating. I would suggest this is a real asset to Strathpeffer and hope locals as well as visitors take the opportunity to visit. One real blessing no smell of stale cooking oil that one so often comes across when trying to find an eatery. So highly recommend and thank you Red Poppy, you deserve to do well based on the service we received.

We sat at a table on the platform and enjoyed it so much we went the next day as well. I enjoyed my soup and square sausage roll and the ice cream sundaes were very good.

Because of we had no reservation for the much more cosy Red Poppy this was our only dinner option near Strathpeffer. The restaurant is in a very posh castle hotel. The nice environment is it's main attraction. The food is fairly moderate with a high price.

Table Manors is the brand new restaurant on 5* Achnagairn Estate. Boasting two winners of the Young Highland Chef of the Year award, the food is outstanding. Table Manors serves a bistro-style menu from 5.30 to 7.30 with a relaxed atmosphere and varied, a
Had the 5 course dinner tonight. Every course was amazing. From the little nibbles to start, the amuse bouche then the fabulous 5 courses. We also had the wine pairing which was so good. The knowledge of the staff, service and food were second to none. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Lucky enough to call this a local restaurant.

Our restaurant provides delicious meals from fresh locally sourced produce. The vegetables we provide are grown in our own garden when possible. There is an emphasis on game and fish meals. We work closely with local farmers to get the best of what the re
The restaurant is on the first floor of the hotel and is a very tired room with a poor range of mismatched tables and chairs linked to a second room with visible clutter. Service is by a food lift and waiters waitresses who work hard but are poorly trained. Claims to be fine dining but the tables are stained, the cutlery was set incorrectly, the menu is poor and the food was served terribly. Plates some are chipped and servings are not laid out properly on the plates I've had much better food in pubs let alone some medium priced normal restaurants. Pork belly was poor, lamb was o but tough considering time of year and no decent jus. vegetables were poor. The STP did pass muster but eating in this room was not a pleasant experience from a food or setting point of view.We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your dining experience at Ord House Hotel. I'm pleased to let you know that we have updated our dining room furniture and that the clutter which you referred to was there due to renovations and has been removed. We hope to see you at Ord House Hotel again soon!

Come along and try some delicious home-baked scones & cakes, light meals, and a range of speciality teas and coffees whilst enjoying views of the village from the stunning glass fronted Café. Cafe Artysans is also part of Calman Trust, working with young
I have eaten here previously and I have to say that the staff are always friendly. Today was no different, lovely service, clean venue and good value for money. The pulled pork wrap along with salad and chips was a good size portion and delicious. My partner had the chicken with pesto, mozzarella, he couldn't really taste the pesto but he said it was still nice with the accompanied lemon new potatoes and french beans. I can't recommend this cafe and venue enough, it also sells a lovely variety of gifts and has great facilities that pulls the community together.

Very busy and popular restaurant right in the heart of the historical and lively village of Beauly. We have a traditional style restaurant, and for a quick pit stop we have a coffee and cake area attached. We also have a more budget offering in our Bistro
Had a lovely meal here whilst on holiday travelling around the highlands. We had planned to have a nice meal for my birthday the night before but our day was a bit of nightmare so decided to try and make up for it tonight. The Priory did not dissappoint! We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table but this was perfectly understandable as we arrived around the primetime for dinner and we did not have a reservation. We had a lovely glass of wine while we waited for a table. The service was very attentive and friendly. Both me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our meals and took our time because we did not feel rushed. We shared apple pie for dessert which was also lovely. We were pleasantly surprised when our bill arrived as we are on a budget but decided to splash out for my birthday meal, but the bill ended up being much less than expected. Best meal we had during our holiday in the highlands. Thank you for making (the day after) my birthday so special!Good afternoon Thank you for your kind review, we all appreciate you taking time to do so. We hope you have enjoyed your visit to the highlands and wish you a safe journey home.Regards Kate

Corner on the Square is a licensed delicatessen and eaterie overlooking the square in the historic village of Beauly. We offer a range of fine food and drink from up the road, round the corner and from across the globe. The welcome is unashamedly Highland
I love these types of hybrid gourmet food store and restaurants. A great selection of Scottish products for sale and for eating in. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a cheese plate with 4 Scottish cheeses. Also a fish chowder with Shetland smoked and white haddock, poached salmon, potatoes, sweet corn and fresh dill. The daily special was a frittata that was vegetarian and gluten free. Enjoyed an organic Scottish beer from Black Isle brewery. Many craft beers and wines available. Excellent decision to stop for lunch. And warm service too!
