A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at the Cochrane Inn. Located in the village of Gatehead, on the outskirts of Kilmarnock, this traditional country inn and family restaurant, has a distinctly contemporary, yet cosy ambience. Our menu has modern twist
This was a special meal for my parent's wedding anniversary. The food was great, we didn't have to wait long and the ladies serving were really friendly. Even the kids meals were great quality. All 4 adults are from the set menu which had lots of choice and we were not disappointed! Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Family run restaurant deep in the heart of burns country 5 miles from Ayr.
Had lunch at the coylton arms today. Varied choice on the Sunday lunch menu. Restaurant was very quiet which was nice. We didn't have a starter but all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our main course. Staff were very friendly. Myself and my grandpa had steak pie which was lush. Cubes of steak were so tender and just melted in the mouth. Cajun chicken salad was out of this world. Also the chicken breast with black pudding. Sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. Desserts were stunning. I would very much recommend to come here for food and a lovely friendly welcome with nice atmosphere

Known for years as The Canny Man this popular pub and restaurant has been relaunched as The Padaro Bar & Restaurant. Situated in Lugton, near Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, it is fast becoming a local favourite thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and friendly sta
We visit here regularly and welcome the changes which ongoing at the moment. Visited tonight at 5.30 and were given the main menu and a specials typed sheet. We both fancied the roast beef but when we were ordering were told there was no roast beef. Why not tell you when the menu is given instead of waiting till you decide? We WERE told when given the dessert menu that 2 out of 4 âspecialsâ were not available. Quite early to have run out of 3 of the specials. Also we have been 3 times during the school holidays with our granddaughters and twice out of the 3 my wee granddaughter has been given apple juice which is âoffâ. I was given the explanation the second time that they decant the juice into plastic bottles and it goes off quite quickly but if they are aware of this why are the staff not alerted to checking. If we have been given âoffâ juice on two visits how many other people have. It was replaced on both occasions by the same lady who picked up on it before we even had a chance to complain which is rather strange, as if she was expecting it. Only later did I think it would have been a nice gesture if it had been taken off the bill but it wasnât.This IS a favourite place with us but there are just a few wee tweaks needed in customer service. I would also like to add that the staff are lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The front of house staff were delightful and very helpful with one member of the family who has a nut allergy. The service was relaxed and the meal was excellent. The sticky toffee pudding was one of the best we'd ever had! Thank you.

A relaxed and stylish destination in the heart of Stewarton, The new-look Mill House serves delicious food, all day every day. Take a look at out our menus below.
Myself, my husband and our two friends reserved a table at The Mill House at 3pm on Sunday 9th Sept. We were going for the quiz that was starting at 5pm and thought we would get some food beforehand. What a nightmare that was! First of all, no one mentioned to us that we could eat our food in the downstairs bar where the quiz was being held and the service was absolutely atrocious! Sooo incredibly slow. No one came to see us and ask how the food was/ if we needed a drink etc. We had to try and get the staffs attention and then when we did mange to ask them for something we had a good 10 min wait before we received what we had requested. We still hadn't been served our main meal at 4.15pm so the guys jumped downstairs to see how busy the bar was and by this point it was heaving. No tables, chairs or stools available and people were actually sitting out on the stairs!Needless to say we left at 5.30pm and the quiz hadn't started yet - we definitely won't be back. Poor service and very poor quality of food.

We came for lunch on a week day and chose the âchefâs menuâ (set menu). Lamb. The lamb was flabby, the chorizo bland, the gravy ill-balanced. The cous cous still very damp but the spring onions a good touch. The puddings were better and my companion really enjoyed the alcohol-soaked strawberries in her trifle. Having happy memories of eating here before, we were disappointed. There was no vegetarian option on the set menu though there was on the a la carte. Well thank you for your review, pity you never mentioned any of these issues with the Manager, we thought you had enjoyed your lunch as you cleared every mouthful in your bowl , the lamb "flabby" strange choice of words but it was from Chump of Lamb which was waterbathed then Roasted , chorizo bland !!!!! cous cous was made with chicken stock and spring onions to order so it would be moist , I walk past your table and never motioned to mention any of these, strange, but thank you again for voicing on opinion on here instead of us dealing with the matter, hope to see you soon , Craig
