Just back from lunch here where we met friends. We had reserved a table and were shown to our table promptly by a friendly waitress. We ordered drinks which arrived quickly with a smile. We ordered our lunch and sat and waited. To be fair we didnât wait long, our food arrived and we were all served at the same time. My Husbands chilli consisted of a large plate of rice with the smallest portion of chilli I have ever seen in a separate tin dish, there were no accompaniments with it, I expected at least guacamole, sour cream and salsa with it!! However it tasted ok. (Note to self to check menu more carefully). My friend and I had the chicken burger, the chicken was very dry and chewy! The plates were cleared relatively quickly and we were shown the dessert menu. We chose our desserts and continued our catch up. My friend and I received our desserts which were ok but my husbands didn't appear until after we had finished ours!! So although not a complete disaster We were disappointed and expected better!Thank you for letting us know about your recent visit to our pub, and I'm really sorry that we've not been able to give you a great experience. This isn't our usual standard and your feedback will be taken on boardRegards,

Very impressed with our bar lunch, we ordered fish and chips and a curry, both dishes were well cooked, the fish was excellent. The server was polite, prompt and well presented. In and out within an hour, without feeling rushed. Great place to eat. The dining area is spacious but cosy and there is a well stocked bar with coffees available too. The toilets were very clean. Big thumbs up to the staff at Weavers.

We've been there to eat something in a sunny spring day. We sat outside, at the wooden tables. Nice place to drink something or eating, very close to the city centre, 2 minutes walking. There are tables outside and it's quite big inside. The food is ok, well presented, tasty. The staff is nice and friendly but there was just a girl at the bar so everything we needed we had to walk inside. To try, especially in a sunny day.

Had a light lunch here today before a long trip north. Haven't been to "The Steadings" for over 30 years!! Obviously, under different management today! Actually, current managers took over only 6 weeks ago and are already making swift changes to make this a pleasant, relaxed casual dining destination for locals. Perhaps returning it to some of its glory days of the past?We had a simple lunch - scampi and chips, spring rolls, soup, roast chicken. The "special" meal of the day (soup and roast chicken) was only £5.95. Great value. All of the food was fresh and tasty. Service was prompt and attentive. Overall, highly recommended for a casual meal - what one would have called a "counter meal" in days gone by. Great value for money. Well worth supporting - locally and from visitors.

Formerly The Royal Oak, now a small family run hotel with bar having 4 tv's showing sport, a nice cosy snug bar,a 70-seater restaurant and 6 en-suite bedrooms. A 2 minute walk from the ice rink.
We dropped by for a bar lunch, this is one of our favourite places to eat in Kirkcaldy as we have never had a bad meal here and today was no exception. We sat down and ordered our food and drinks. Shortly thereafter the food and drinks came to the table. All the food that came to the table was excellent, no complaints about any of it, I can recommend the large fish, cleaned plates all round. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. Great meal at a great price. Thanks for the fab review, it's much appreciated. We do try our best to make it a nice experience.

Visited for lunch with my son. Promptly seated and given menus and order taken and drinks served.Starters and mains, which were good sized portions and nicely presented, came with no issues however not offered dessert menu afterwards. My son then went to the bar to request these and was given grubby menus for us to look at. No one came back to ask if we wanted anything- a sign of the times why so many businesses are going under as customer service is getting poor. Had to then go to the bar to request bill and pay.Come on and improve this duchess as youâve always had a good name for food in the Kirkcaldy area.

Pub And Restaurant
I would advise to book a table in advance as when we went - place was full. The main dining room is adjacent to the main bar and as others have commented isnât glamorous. Plastic table liners and mismatched table and chairs, small school dinner hall vibes. However the reason this place is full is because of the prices and quality of food. Nothing fancy, just homemade pub grub at affordable prices. The three courses for £11.95 is well worth the money and all meals served had generous portions and was all cooked fresh.Good for a casual bar lunch in town.

I last visited this pub in the late seventies. This lunchtime excursion was suggested by friends who are regular customers at the Novar. The lay out inside has changed but really it is the same pub from years ago, but good. The staff were lovely and the menu is outstanding. I recommend a booking in advance because it is mega busy. The food was very good, served hot, fresh and on hot plates if relevant. No complaints by any body and almost clear plates but the portions were âbelly bustersâ so watch out but they do a smaller portion too.Very enjoyable pub grub and great value for money.
