Girls from work had booked a table for a monthly get together, forgetting that the rugby was on that weekend. We turned up at the booked time, we were placed at a table in front of a TV with a lot of the pub looking in our direction. We do realise about the pub being a sports venue but would hoped we would have been informed when we made the booking that a sporting advent would have been getting intertained. Would like to like thank the male waiter who did try and get us a quieter seat...thank you !
Went for a meal and the man who Iâm assuming is the manager was very rude. He may have been trying to make a joke but either way the way in which he addressed us was not appropriate or professional to the point I felt very awkward and uncomfortable and wanted to cancel my order and leave. Iâve been for drinks serval times and never had an issue but this man has made me not want to go back any time soonHi Megan Sorry to hear about your recent visit If you could send further detail of your visit to [email protected], time of your visit so I can take this matter up with the manager on duty
We have been to Scran at the Courtyard- next to the Wheatsheaf- several times, and have enjoyed consistently high quality, expertly cooked food- all at modest pricing . The meals are presented to a high standard, and served by very friendly staff. The bar restaurant is bright and roomy with a casual ambiance. Run by the local team behind the ubiquitous Magpie- gives a very down to earth local feel. Well done guys, and if you can keep up the consistency, you will be a success in the longer term!

The Creamery is a lovely place to go for a meal. Comfortable interior, nicely decorated. The background music is just at the right level. They do a great 3 course lunch for £9.95I've always enjoyed my meals here and the service is welcoming and friendly.Situated in the Mains Street in Bainsford, just down from the town of Falkirk, The Creamery is a lovely venue for good food and cheery service. So what are you waiting for?.................

I knew the Orchard Hotel from many years ago when it would be fair to say, it wasn't five star accommodation! Returning thirty years later, I had read that it offered fair price accommodation for what looked like good (albeit basic) pub style accommodation. The location of the Orchard is excellent, being very centrally based within Falkirk. There is parking available at the rear of the property, but there can be competition for spaces if you arrive back too late in the evening. There is an overspill carpark on the other side of the road, but you need to ask if you don't know where it is.The staff are young, perennially cheerful and very willing to help out. There is no reception area, and the Bar area doubles up as a check in area. This underlines the point that the Orchard is a Bar/Restaurant first, and the hotel is an additional extra. There is no lift, so carrying a heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs was the first challenge. Maybe I could have asked the staff, but I wasn't sure if that was in their brief or not!My room was small and overlooked the car park area at the back. The outlook wasn't great, and the sound of bottles and bins being sorted in the morning was par for the course. I was glad to be a single traveller, as I think that the room would be extremely tight for two people to share. The bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were very thin and it looked as through the bed linen should have been retired off a long time ago. Standards of cleanliness were not great - the carpet had stains, as did the chair. The shower unit base had mould in the cracks, and there were large cracks in two places on the bathroom floor which groaned every time that you stood on them.If you want to feel the earth move at night time, there are tremors to be felt when fellow guests walk along the corridor, or when there is some great activity happening downstairs. Let's just stay there there were a few not so good vibrations.I stayed when it was the Quiz Night at the Bar downstairs, and the noise of course lasted until the last drinks were done. The sound of patrons shouting, swearing and trying to woo a partner from the car park below added to the entertainment. I had given up on sleep by this time and was answering the quiz questions in bed, as I could hear them all as clear as a bell. I should have entered. I still don't know why the MC needed a microphone at all.Breakfast was a great Scottish feast - heart attack on a plate stuff, but I gleefully wolfed it down and washed it all down with Irn Bru. Lovely.WiFi access was intermittent, but the staff tried very hard to fix it. They kept telling me that it was my phone, but as it was working in every other wifi area in town, I very much doubted it. All was restored on my last day, but not after I had missed out on a whole day of free access. In a nutshell, the Orchard Hotel offers basic pub accommodation and if you are on a tight budget it offers good value for money. Don't come expecting anything other than rustic Falkirk charm, and you will be happy.

I feel my rating is harsh, but if I liken it with places I have awarded a 4 too... it wouldn't be fair. This is a place I'd never been before, it doesn't look much from outside, my mate persuaded me to try. It's a strange place. Imagine The Fonz in Happy Days, the restaurant looks a bit like the one in that. It's got a sparse feel, an old vibe. It's clean, it's in decent repair but during the day it felt sparse. At night apparently it's packed and comes to life! The stereo system has quite a reputation for good sound. My own experience was a quiet pizza and a beer with mates. The pizzas are small, but the selection is really different. They are not frozen and baked, these are real original pizzas made on site to novel recipes. The beer selection was good, even if the bar staff didn't seem to know what they had...I feel like I'm damning this place with feint praise, but I don't mean to. I want to go back and take the kids. I want to go back at night and see it alive. I would love to try the other pizzas, I'm curious, intrigued... That has to count for something.Don't go expecting a plush romantic destination, go looking for something a bit different, a bit bar food, a bit kitsch, ride the wave... I'm curious to see where it goes myself, the place has a long standing good reputation for being a local institution.

Love BTW & the upstairs Pizza Pad. This is definitely a local favorite! We always stop in a few times when we come to Scotland to see family. Some favorite menu items are âBetween the Sheetsâ and any of the pizzaâs.

My family took me out for Fathers Day. This restaurant is lovely. The food portions were very big and the quality of food was excellent. Staff service was very good. Prices were very reasonable. The dadâs were even given a complimentary whisky.I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back.

We are a family run local bar and restaurant, offering value for money, fresh, high quality homecooked food. Available in our Family friendly Restaurant or our 4 legged friendly Bar or Beer Garden.
Decided to visit the Soo Hoose for lunch today (Mon 14th Oct) with my wife and daughter. The food was served piping hot, fresh and was plentiful. The two waitresses were great and the overall bill represented true value for money. If in the area again, we would definitely return.
