Do you like Indian cuisine? If you do, you will love Golden Star in Balloch in Loch Lomond! A fully licensed restaurant, we have been proudly serving the local area for over a quarter of a century. During that time, our family run restaurant has built up
Last night was our first visit since the refurbishment at the Golden Star. What a difference! New furniture and wooden flooring, gone are the table cloths and carpet with Indian decoration on the walls. Much improved and more modern. Food still as good as previously and even though there was no wine list we still managed to get a well priced bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. We will be back again soon.

This is an upmarket restaurant in the grounds of the Cameron House Hotel adjacent to the marina. Very nicely decorated and friendly local staff. Menu offered some appetising choices and I can highly recommend the lamb rump. Prices are higher than down the road in Balloch but I guess you pay for the location. Fantastic views over the loch and the marina are worth the extra cost.Thank you for your feedback. It is wonderful to read that you enjoyed your visit to The Boat House Restaurant. I will be sure to pass your compliments on to the team, The Chef will be pleased to learn that you enjoyed the lamb rump. We hope to welcome you back to the bonnie banks soon.

Stunning location decided to have lunch in the bar area and managed to get a table on the terrace overlooking the loch. Slow service to get our order taken when the food arrived one item was missing which took at bit of chasing up. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed looking at the whisky selection in the bar and photos of famous Scottish people.

We came her for my daughters birthday. Food was very well made and the view on to the farm grounds is great. This is a lovely place with home baking and true Scottish hospitality. There are llamas here also that were being clipped during our visit.

Evening meal with family Friday during weekend break. I ordered salmon fillet which came with veg, it was superb. Husband had fish combo and sister and brother in law had fajitas. All excellent. Service was fantastic. Staff extremely friendly and polite. Venue was spotlessly clean. The view of the Loch was stunning. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going there again.

The main restaurant is stylish and informal, with striking baronial themed decor and intimate lighting that help pay tribute to the history of the building. This restaurant features an open kitchen, unique salmon bar and delicious locally sourced produce
Having dined here several times I would say the restaurant is nothing special and very expensive for the quality. The steaks are good, but not great. I recently had the venison and the accompaniments were terrible. A raw pear, skin on, cut up on the plate? Whoever thought that was a good idea shouldn't be working in a restaurant that sells 2 courses for £49 (though many of the dishes carry additional supplements).

It was outstanding, the whole experience: delicious food, great wine pairing, very attentive service, the ambiance of the place. The meal started with 4 amuse vouches, 3-courses and after petit fours. We ordered different meals and all of them were great as wines as well.Overall: Great value and wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this place and hope to come again.

I hadnât come across drunken goatâs cheese before, but evidently the name refers to the process of marinating the rind. There were three of us, and we ordered tapas for two, which proved to be ample for a light lunch. There was good vegetarian choice and friendly efficient staff â and right on the sea front.

We had drinks in here on a recent visit to Helensburgh and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the place! My husband and me remembered it as "the Imperial Hotel" back in the 70's when he was still in the Royal Navy... what a transformation! A very calm, interesting and peaceful venue - especially remembering the days of the "old Imps"! The staff were very helpful and the menu looked to be very good - I'm sure we'd have stayed to sample the food had not the grandchildren had their hearts set on fish suppers! We're so happy to have brought those fond memories! Thank you for your visit. We're bringing the hotel back soon so hopefully we'll see you again, maybe this time you'll stay with us for a night :)
