Lovely small restaurant opposite the lighthouse with beautiful views, especially sunsets.Good choice of menu, however was not particularly impressed with the house wines - probably better taking a branded bottle instead.Lovely home made bread though.,,,Service overall prompt and friendly.Probably best to book, particularly at weekends.Would certainly give it another visit and recommend,

Lovely hotel overlooking Portpatrick, public rooms all well laid out and beautiful decor, bedrooms to match. Breakfast was excellent too with views over the Irish Sea. Few niggles but none too serious to mention (each to their own) Well worth a visit- recommended

Visited with friends and the meal was up to its usual standard the steak is the best in the region. The staff were they usual friendly and cheeky self offering the same great service. Since my first visit in in 2018 everything has been delivered high standard.Wow - thank you very much!!Our steaks are popular so i'm thrilled you enjoyed it!! The hotel and restaurant is off the beaten track and set yards from the beach in a small secluded cove.We were welcomed by a wonderful lady at reception who seated us in the small bar, took our drinks order and explained the tasting menu any dislikes and the menu can be altered.We enjoyed every course but our particular favourite was the fish which was done in a wonderfully light buerre blanc sauce.Great staff, great location I would definitely recommend you try it. Thank you for your review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your lunch with us and hope that we can welcome you back to the Lodge in the future.

Hadn't eaten here in a while and came back hoping it would be as good as I remembered and sure enough it didn't let md down. The Crown restaurant is not about fancy little pointless details, it's about great local produce superbly cooked. I had beautiful scallop mousse with prawns and toast followed by pheasant (cooked to perfection) on a bed of haggis with lots of neeps "n" tatties. All wonderful

Had always wanted to visit here, so glad we did. Very quaint village, people really friendly. Thereâs a row of hotels with bars that were fairly lively on a Friday. We stayed at the harbour house hotel in room 8, this was up some windy stairs with squirky sloping roofs. Our room was good with views to die for, although if your tall like my partner youâll have to watch you donât whack your head on the low ceilings the toilet/shower is internal and Very tiny but it was ok for overnight stay. The bar/restaurant area was lovely, breakfast was adequate too, cold & hot choices, staff welcoming & friendly, will definitely return.

Had enjoyed a few visits to this restaurant under its Campbell's years,now trading as Connors have to say this visit the food quality nowhere near as good, starters of tasteless soup and overdone, yes overdone and poor quality mussels followed by overcooked seafood medley and stroganoff in which the meat was so tough we had to ask for a sharper knife to cut it, response was I'll let the chef know ( last we heard on that topic)Slow service and simple touches like having to ask for water to be put on the table, no side dish being brought for mussel shells until requested, mussels served with a lobster fork, absolutely useless for that purpose, having to go and collect own coats and obviously untrained waitresses with no serving finesse left the impression it has a bit to go in food preparation, quality and service standards.Not quite the enjoyable experience of previous visits

Weekend away from the central belt, down in the Rinns/rhins for the first time. Found this place through TA and no regrets. Food was top notch and proper Italian menu not just pasta. Staff were lovely and owner was interesting and friendly even when our young son tore around the restaurant on a post meal sugar rush. Wish this restaurant was more local to me. Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a great review. In true Italian style we always believe dining out is a real family occasion so we always welcome children of all ages, sugar rush or not ;)I do hope you visit this beautiful wee corner of Scotland again in the future and would love for you to call in and see us again at Papa Rabs.Thank you again.Take care,Rab
