Booked for 38 people the place was really well laid out ,I had steak pie which was lovely didnât hear any complaints from anyone except macaroni and cheese portions were huge too much ,staff very pleasant a really good afternoon,Cakes and scones were also nice ,would definitely recommend .

This seems to have become our regular spot for breakfast on a Saturday.Food is excellent, fresh and full of flavour and cakes/coffee is amazing. My wife loves the turmeric tea latte.

Visited on Tuesday afternoon, although it was very quiet we really enjoyed our visit. Had two courses, soup and steak sandwich, the bread is to die for and the steak was fillet, yes fillet. Visited for lunch with my son. Promptly seated and given menus and order taken and drinks served.Starters and mains, which were good sized portions and nicely presented, came with no issues however not offered dessert menu afterwards. My son then went to the bar to request these and was given grubby menus for us to look at. No one came back to ask if we wanted anything- a sign of the times why so many businesses are going under as customer service is getting poor. Had to then go to the bar to request bill and pay.Come on and improve this duchess as youâve always had a good name for food in the Kirkcaldy area.

I would advise to book a table in advance as when we went - place was full. The main dining room is adjacent to the main bar and as others have commented isnât glamorous. Plastic table liners and mismatched table and chairs, small school dinner hall vibes.However the reason this place is full is because of the prices and quality of food. Nothing fancy, just homemade pub grub at affordable prices. The three courses for £11.95 is well worth the money and all meals served had generous portions and was all cooked fresh.Good for a casual bar lunch in town.

Dropped in for breakfast and what an amazing place absolutely beautiful clean restaurant, we had three breakfasts and pancakes for my grandson it was out of this world I honestly couldnât say enough things about the place from service to staff to the food exquisite and then thereâs Sharon our waitress superb !Canât wait to go back now 20 out of 10

We were visiting relatives in Kirkcaldy and chose the Dining Room for lunch after reviewing their website. We are so glad that we did. Everything about the experience was top-notch â the welcome from Colin, the manager, the dog friendly policy in one of the two dining rooms, the decor and, of course, the food. Three of us had the black pudding and chorizo bonbons, which were proclaimed 'absolutely delicious, and I had the spring roll with a ginger and chilli dipping sauce. The battered haddock and chunky chips was a popular choice for the main course and the batter was the crispiest I have ever tasted. Portions are generous, but we still found room for the chocolate and salted caramel pot, one of a delicious set of dessert offerings. Not only was the lunch delicious, it was incredibly well priced. The Dining Room is definitely our go to place in Kirkcaldy for future visits.

I last visited this pub in the late seventies. This lunchtime excursion was suggested by friends who are regular customers at the Novar.The lay out inside has changed but really it is the same pub from years ago, but good.The staff were lovely and the menu is outstanding. I recommend a booking in advance because it is mega busy.The food was very good, served hot, fresh and on hot plates if relevant. No complaints by any body and almost clear plates but the portions were âbelly bustersâ so watch out but they do a smaller portion too.Very enjoyable pub grub and great value for money.

Wandered down the hill from our AirBnB in Kirkcaldy to enjoy the #1 restaurant - and we weren't disappointed! Saturday night (without a reservation), we were seated immediately. We shared a light bruschetta (with rosemary and tasty goats cheese) to start. For mains D opted for the catch of the day (she's serious about her fish!), I know there was monkfish in it! She loved it! I chose the chicken breast (intrigued by the caramelised onion and whiskey sauce and crumbled haggis additions) - it was delish! To finish? We shared an indulgent salted caramel chocolate hotpot. Service came with a smile and a our waitress was delightful (Sorry I didn't catch her name, but it was her last night before heading off to art school in Dundee). Thoroughly recommend The Waterfront!
