Friendly service and extreme value for money - 2 courses for £8.50 - you cannot argue. Obviously at these prices you are not getting 'gastropub' quality- go to the excellent Ramblers up the road for that - but you can feed your family for buttons and the food's not bad. The 'home made' steak pie is great, but avoid the battered fish - at £6, Its pre-frozen and uninspiring. Very large portions though- the two courses were actually way too much for me tbh :-)So - a bit hit and miss - but the niche they've found is great- the cheapest prices around by far, if all you are looking for is a quick low cost bite and aren't a food snob.

My husband and I have been here many times. We were greeted and seated promptly. We were served by Shannon who was very helpful and polite. We enjoyed the seating just in front of the kitchen as I find the lighting is poor in other areas (bad eyesight too) We ordered some delicious cocktails and the food order was also taken. My husband had the warrior burger which he really enjoyed and I had the cajun shrimp pasta with the warrior fries - the food was scrumptious! My husband ordered dessert and I had a coffee and we also had another couple of cocktails each (all cocktails ordered were the ultimate sizes) - we really enjoyed this visit and can't wait to come back. Keep up the good work- the staff are a credit to this establishment

It was my mum's birthday so we visited with the family. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Food varied between: pate, soup, stuffed jalapenos, garlic bread, steak pie, liver, chicken and beef burgers! I had the house burger which was AMAZING. I don't ever get burgers when I'm out but glad I did on Sunday. It was topped with cheese, chilli and onion rings. We skipped on dessert as too full, but the kids managed an ice cream. I had taken cupcakes in for the birthday girl, so the staff were lovely and brought the cakes out with candles after our meal.Bill came to around £143 which was very reasonable considering we had 4 beers and wine as well as juice during our visit.Thank you for your positive feedback. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

A mixed bag, but pretty decent. The pub's like a Tardis. Looks wee, and anonymous on the outside, and huge and inviting on the inside. The karaoke night was really good. Not ideal, because the pub's not really laid out for live entertainment, but the DJ Charlie did a good job on setting up the sound kit, and atmosphere. Generally a nice feel to the place. Might have given 5 stars, but the food really let the place down. Not awful, but not great, and dishes that looked light and tasty on the menu were heavy and bland. It's OK for offsetting beer, but the place will suffer if they don't improve the food.
