We were recommended to go and not disappointed. Very nice atmosphere. Prompt service on arrival. Good selection on the menu but we had been told that the steak pie was a must have. It was very good and plenty of it with chips and veg. Other selections brought to nearby tables also looked good. Would return if staying in that area.

As it was a Saturday evening, the Trades House was much busier than on our last visit, and didnât have the cosy, quiet ambience we so enjoyed. That doesnât detract from the fact that this is a beautiful, traditional bar. The service was still efficient and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We recently went back to Innis and Gunn - love the bar, great location. Not impressed with being served with plastic glasses not exactly a nice way to drink the premium drink on a Saturday night!Hi GR1UKGlad to hear you love our new look and offering, I am saddened to hear that the staff were serving our stunning beer in plastic glasses though. Could you send me an email at [email protected] letting me know when you visited so I can speak to the staff and stop this happening in future? Thanks

Porters Bar and Restaurant is a relaxed dining experience where we serve nothing but the freshest of food, all sourced locally. We cater for all tastes, providing great quality seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes. We have a great selection of beers, fine
Situated in the dock redeveloped area, with parking adjacent (free in the evenings). Nice atmosphere, very good service, nice menu choice, mid priced, and well presented food is excellent. A good find. After nine they often have entertainment from a tribute act, as part of an all-in price including a meal. So if thatâs not your thing, you have been warned, though it sounds like a bit of fun. Check with them first and booking for that probably essential.

The Royal Arch Tavern & Bistro still forms Broughty Ferry's hub - since 1840. Originally Broughty's Railway Tavern, the hostelry's name changed in 1860 to mark the demolition of the ancient Royal Arch Lodge. The Tavern is blessed with its hand-carved solid
Pleasant looking pub in the middle of Broughty Ferry with some interesting external stained glass windows. It also benefits from some external tables that get the benefit of the afternoon sun and we utilised one of these whilst killing a bit of time before catching the bus back to Dundee.Obviously cannot pass judgement on the food here as we did not eat, but a decent pint of 71 Brewing Left Coast and friendly service levels from the barman made this a good stop.Hello Steve_of_N21, thanks for coming into The Royal Arch. A Londoner praising a Pub, is praise indeed because London Pubs are acclaimed globally! Itâs great to read that you had a nice experience here, enjoying good cask beer and company of friendly people.

Once again, The Anchor delivers. Now, although I wouldn't class myself as a regular here, it is a place we make a point of visiting when in Broughty Ferry, last night we were there for my wife's birthday treat. The menu is extensive with something for all tastes, don't hesitate to ask what the 'special' is either as you might get a nice surprise. My wife loves the lasagne here so that was her choice, she told me it was delicious, and it looked just that. I opted for the pepper-steak-melt which was thoroughly outstanding. The portions are very generous with everything cooked to perfection and you generally don't wait much longer than 15 minutes depending on your choice, curries take a bit longer as they are made to order. The service is outstanding, warm and welcoming. The pub is quite compact, thus generating it's own vibrant atmosphere, there is always a feel-good factor when you are there. On nice days like we've had recently you can opt to sit outside (if you are lucky enough to get a table) where the sun will shine on you throughout the afternoon and into the early evening. If you plan a visit for food then you are advised to book a table as the popularity of the food usually means it is fully booked. However, it is possible to get a table on a walk-in but my advice would be to book in advance. The food really is fabulous, as I say in my heading, gourmet quality at good prices, you will pay a lot more elsewhere for food of sub-standard quality to this. So, don't miss out, get yourself to 'the ferry' and get a table booked, you won't be disappointed, I never have been.

Tickety Booâs is a traditional bar that offers a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. It boasts a horseshoe-shaped bar and original stained glass windows, but there is nothing traditional about its modern standards. This top performing bar has won awards
Although Tickety Booâs is one of the best-known pubs in the town, it hasnât turned into one of those trendy, nondescript modern bars. This is a smart, traditional, small bar with good service, decent beer and a relaxed atmosphere.Itâs certainly one of the best in town.

We recently stopped off at Broughty Ferry with our dog and were looking for somewhere that was 'dog friendly' - did a quick google search and came up with The Ship Inn - not only were we able to take the dog into the lounge and sit down for a proper meal, the food was absolutely excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Can certainly recommend The Ship Inn.Very pleased that you enjoyed your meal and visit to the Ship, however to avoid any misunderstandings I would point out to readers of this review that dogs are only allowed into the bar and not the upstairs restaurant, regards Steve

Milton gets it right again. From super friendly well trained staff to a great atmosphere it's always a pleasure to eat here. We went for Sunday dinner and the roasts are amazing. Delicious fresh food and generous portions. We also had desserts which again are home made and very tasty. Definitely recommend and well done to all staff
