Nice restaurant with a nice view over Elbe. But don't expect too much. It might take some time before they notice you and can get service.
Gutes Essen, vielleicht etwas zu fettig aber das ist eben sächsisch. Nicht das billigste Restaurant am Ort aber die Küche ist wirklich ordentlich. Gemütliches Ambiente.
Good choice of food, from local to international, that was definitely better than any tourist restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cost was reasonable .

We spent 2 nights at the Gasthaus and Pension Bauernhausl Mirko Taubrich while visiting Potzcha and the Saxony Switzerland. The guesthouse was very centrally located and easily accessed by steamer ship or train if you do not have a car. The front of the guesthouse overlooks the Elbe river and has a lovely terrace where we ate a delicious meal of 'pfferlinge' (chanterelle mushrooms). The rooms were very clean and modern with brand new bathrooms and very good beds. The breakfast was excellent and overall the guesthouse is very good value. However we found some of the staff a bit grumpy and not particularly welcoming or helpful. The big issue for us was the proximity to the railway tracks - we had rooms facing the train tracks and trains run by every half hour. The noise was initially overwhelming but by the second night we had got used to it (a bit). Still, I found that I did not sleep well because of the train, which was a shame, given the otherwise lovely location. This, combined with the staff who were a generally unfriendly and unwelcoming, means that we probably won't stay here again. I would suggest the other side of the river to get away from the train noise!

We went there for one night, when we were hiking the "Malerweg" in the "Saxonian Swiss". The rooms are simple and old fashioned but clean. The food was good and plenty. The staff is sometimes a little bit "missing" but we had time. Because of the weather it was not crowded and everything was very relaxed. We had Bohemian goulash and schnitzel, some german beer and wine and after all we paid including tax etc. not more than 140 Euros for 2 beds incl. rich breakfast, 2 times dinner and so on. We will definitively come back the next time.

Restaurant is associated with adjoining hotel, but it is open to public.Excellent German food. Good service. Touristy prices. I enjoyed "diesel", beer and cola mixed together.

My wife and I had dinner there. I had the Bohemian Schweize mushroom (pfefferlinge) with cream with knödel (dumpling). Mine was very tasty and filling. She had the trout with butter and lemon which she said was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive as they could be, as it was busy. Happily recommend. Only criticism is that she thought that the side salad dressing was a bit of a let down. I thought it was fine.

This restaurant is extremely well situated on a terrace overlooking the River Elbe and ferry moving to and from Struppen. The beer was excellent, the service efficient, and the food very good. A wonderful way to unwind after the strenuous business of walking up to Bastei Rock Bridge and the Amselfalls village.

Who is on the way to Saxon Switzerland, comes at the Brauhaus Pirna "Zum Giesser" barely passing. For years, the brewery has been firmly established in the region. Take a seat near the great brewing kettle and enjoy a homely atmosphere, the good food and
We have been staying in the Sachsische Schweiz but eat outside the hotel. We like to try different places. And it's not often that we return to a restaurant. But at Brauhaus "Zum Giesser" we had so great service the first time and such a lovely diner. That we had to return there the last night of our stay. Although the terrace was full of Germans watching the football game between Holland-Germany, the restaurant upstairs was serving a good dinner. I can't mention one thing that went wrong. Excellent but down to earth food. We loved it! Go there and enjoy yourself!

We ate three very different evening meals at this restaurant as part of a package with the hotel. Each meal was excellent in different ways. The ingredients were fresh and seasonal. There were interesting touches and creativity for the meals while retaining the traditional German standards. The views from the restaurant are truly amazing! It is worth eating here just for the views! After your meal, you can stroll down to the Bastei Bridge and have it all to yourself.Thank you for your stay in our house and the subsequent assessment. We are pleased that you enjoyed it and thank you for the information. We would be pleased to welcome you at our Berghotel Bastei again. Yours faithfully - the Bastei team
