This is the restaurant of the Hotel Tuchmacher, and it was an absolute delight to dine there. We could only cope with a main course each, but enjoyed every mouthful, whilst the appetisers were delicious, as were the chocolates presented at the conclusion of the meal. Staff were superlative. The evening was one to remember.

We walked over the pedestrian bridge from Gorlitz and found this great little restaurant. The food was incredible. It was authentic Silesian cuisine. There were meat dishes and pierogis. There was also some really delicious regional soups. This restaurant is cozy and tables are few. We had some challenges ordering but a delightful server- who also seemed to be doing everything else as well- made it happen. We were pleasantly surprised by the cost that in polish currency worked out to about $35 for 4 of us!

The restaurant is just across the pedestrian bridge from Old Town Gorlitz. As others note the menu, which is available in English, is full of regional dishes. My meal which included drinks, soup, appetizer, and main dish was delicious and very reasonably priced. The wait staff was courteous and spoke English.

This is a wonderful place that I keep coming back to year after year. The peace, warmth and beautiful surroundings make for a perfect getaway. The Obermühle in-house brewery (situated directly above the aesthetic bar) produces an excellent beer, which, when served by local waiters, will give you the sensation on culture.Great food! The kitchen uses mainly local vegetables and meat; I had a talk to the chef-cook and he told me, that they visit many of the producers of these ingredients. After a satisfying meal from the Obermühle, you should rent a boat and sail into the forrest and enjoy the peace. The rooms are surprisingly neat, compared to what you often meet outside bigger cities. I enjoyed a room with a view to the lake, where the sound of rushing water was lulling me into rest.I fully recommend the Obermühle for eating, drinking and sleeping for anyone!

An upscale and old-world place right off of the Untermarkt. It was popular with the cast of The Grand Budapest Hotel who stayed in the nearby Hotel Boerse:We had a delicious regional dish called Schlesisches Himmelreich (Kingdom of Heaven), which is a creamy stew of Pork Belly and dried Plums and Apricots.

Lucia Schulte is a stylish restaurant that serves excellent food. The menu is not particularly German, except for a slight preference for German wines. We had asparagus soup, tuna, and scallops and shrimp - all very nicely prepared and served. Prices are at the upper end for Gorlitz, but very reasonable. Service is polite and efficient. Recommended.

Always good for a new culinary experience we ventured from our base in Görlitz across the river Neisse and, after getting directions from very friendly locals, finally found this place. They do need to do something to avoid potential patrons unfamiliar with the area just passing by. Set in a residential house, it is very easy to kiss and both, patrons and owners would miss out, the first on a very pleasant surprise and the latter on the revenue and promotion. The food is very good, tastefully arranged, and polish cousine, albeit at times quite basic, very palatable. And that's were the secret seems to lie. No overcomplicated attempts to create something new no matter what, just plain and simple food. Sorry, not plain, figure of speech, as the food was all but plain. The coffee was quite reasonable although traditionally Polish "brewed" in the cup, also called Turkish, but from very good beans. Overall very enjoyable, clean and extremely friendly with very good kitchen at embarrassingly low cost. 6 of 10 and sure a stop over again next time in Europe.

When we visited there the restaurant was fully reserved. When I asked the waitress she said "nur draussen" (= go outside) it sounds quite impolite and a bit arrogant . I deceided to go.

This Restaurant is not only the only choice if you want to have a dinner after 8 pm in Görlitz, it's also the very best one anyway! Terrific cuisine! Also the waitresses are very friendly and transform you any special request. No problems with English or German language. On top I love the modern cozy charme of the ambience. I was there a couple of times - always very pleased. Don't forget to reserve to make sure you'll get a table. ;-)
