They have their beer on draft from a real barrel or keg and if you are using the restroom, you can see them draw beer.If the weather is nice, you should try to get a table outside in the yard; maybe you are lucky and might sit right next to the little river Chemnitz, wich has given the city it's name. The food is yummy and the waiters are attentive and kind!We could recommend this bar / restaurant.

My German wife and I visit Chemnitz about once per year and usually go to LB. Great location in the city center, cozy, excellent French bistro fare always with fresh ingredients. A pleasant crowd and setting -- "convivial" and" relaxing" come to mind. Good fish, decent wine. Took 1 star off atmosphere because the tables are a bit cramped. If you can sit outside, it works well with kids.

Hotel Chemnitzer Hof with its Restaurant Opera is located right next to the opera house and the Kunstsammlungen (art collections) in Chemnitz. You do not have to go to the opera to enjoy the food at this four-star restaurant. There is a fabulous view of t
Opera was open surprisingly late on a Wednesday night and the terrace was full. The service is superb and so is the food. My husband has eaten here several times and has never had anything he didnât enjoy. After ordering, you are presented with an amuse bouche and my husband's entrée was served under a cloche. This may seem stuffy to some people, but I loved it and I hope they never change.

Werden went there because of the abundance of good reviews, but were really disappointed. As one of the few reviewers pointed out, the appetizers were just some olives, bad ones by the way... The pasta was lukewarm and not really tasty. I can do much better myself!! My wife had tuna which was good, but the rice which came along was rather of the sweet and sticky kind, it just did not go along well. We definitely won't be back!

We came here for lunch. This is a Hungarian and Viennese restaurant. My Hungarian dish soup was delicious as was my wife's goulash soup.I had a beef goulash with little dumplings rather like spÄtzle. My wife had Zander. Both excellent. No room for pudding unfortunately! The owner was very friendly. On the way out I asked about the name of the restaurant. Why 1832? It did not match any of the dates in my mental Hungarian history book....No, it was instead the date of the Great Fire of Hainichen. Highly recommended..

Definitely a place to visit more than once if you are in Chemnitz. All seasonal German kitchen also available (at this time Pfifferlinge - mushrooms)

It is a hall of an old spinning machines factory, high roof, fine decoration including garn cones and a big screen playing a documentary about the now extinct textile machine industry of the region. An open kitchen with excellent grilling capabilities (both meat and fish) no smells (fabulous air circulation) brick walls. Starters full of taste and imagination and a great assortment of pulled and fresh meat to grill as well as fish together with a big variety of side dishes. Nice wine list. One of the best in Chemnitz. Not to be missed!

This is the hidden jem of Chemnitz. Roland Keilholz and his Team are doing a wonderful Job preparing the best Quality of dishes in town. Light German cuisine with italian and asian influences. The best meat and fish you get within 50 kilometers. And yet it is not very expensive. You definitely have to go there.

We have been visiting Hofmann's Rossschlaechterei when we were kids, money was tight and our single mom bought meat here frequently. This was our first visit back in last 15 years and we were delighted to enjoy fabulous home made German food. Having travelled extensively and taking foreign guests to the Oktoberfest etc I have to say Franklin's is way better than the touristy places and on par with good home made food restaurants. For starters we had horse carpaccio which had a very refreshing pure taste. Mains were Roulade with Green Potato Dumpling , one of my childhood favorites. The red cabbage was excellent , fresh, not overcooked with a slight crisp. My brother had horse Schnitzel which was baked in butter, the way it has to be made. All in all excellent , I took some smoked horse sausage home to Tokyo. Very onexpensive by intl standards.
