Reviews on Asian food in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. It’s always hard to fill the shoes of someone who used to do your job very well. If you’re the choirmaster at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, guess whose shoes you have to fill? Bach’s. (No pressure.) Leipzig is closely connected to classical music—Wagner was born here, and Mendelssohn established a conservatory here in 1843. If you’re more of a melancholy, contemporary type, visit during the Wave-Gotik-Treffen, billed as the world’s largest "dark" (Goth, industrial, punk, etc.) music festival.

Centrally located, Changs serves up authentic Thai food at a very reasonable price. It's a small place with big decor! I advise booking ahead on the weekend. We ate the shrimp chips (prawn crackers), chicken in leaves, dumplings, Spicy beef salad, beef massaman and prawn red curry. All were very tasty.Recommend!

We are gathered together from all parts of the world--United States, Canada, Taiwan, Mainland China and locals. All because we wanted to share a delicious and authentic Chinese dinner. With twelve people we were ushered into a VIP area where we can chat with reasonable privacy. We were thinking of having chop suey or fast food like fusion meals. It turns out to be a very authentic experience. The two cumin lamb dishes were delicately cooked ( not fatty greasy nor burnt)--consumed quickly as instructed, at the right temperature. The BBQ Duck was juicy tender and tasty, eaten together with the sauce and thin rice wrap. Potato julienne strips were fresh and yummy to taste. We also had a few refreshing tapenade dishes--sea weed, broccoli, pickled vegetables with edamame. There is the comforting home-dish like GrandMa tofu. The highlights of the dinner were first the fried Fish with lotus slices, onion and fried tofu in its own sauce. Then it was the fresh poached trout, cooked to perfection --reminded me of Schubert's "Die Forelle" . The decor was modern with strong flashes of red, a happy colour in Chinese settings. The servers were busy but very pleasant and helpful in deed. The place was almost full even when we left.It was altogether a very satisfying and enjoyable meal, over and above our expectations. We definitely will recommend it to anybody trying to try authentic Chinese cuisine here.

Uniquely for a Leipzig restaurant in this price category, Sakura has maintained a consistently oustanding level of quality over the 11 years I have been eating here. The ingredients are well sourced: v. good tuna and salmon, perfect rice, superior ginger and wasabi. The tempura isn't world-class, but better than anything you're likely to find in Eastern Germany (with the possible exception of the much more expensive Japanese restaurant in the Leipzig Westin). Short, well-chosen wine list with Schloà Proschwitz, among others. The atmosphere is very informal, the service generally smiling, and the prices very reasonable. We will continue to eat here regularly.

Went on Saturday evening - recommend reservation. We didn't have a reservation but the Staff quickly found a spot. Menu is good - Vietnamese, Japanese. I order Pho and my colleague ordered sushi. It took a bit to bring the food, however, it was quite busy and the sushi is made fresh. Food was incredible. The Pho - best broth EVER! I would have been happy with just the broth. Sushi - beautiful. Here come the bad part. We were tired and wanted to leave. Asked for the check..not once...not twice...three times. Took nearly 30 minutes to get the check. The food would bring me back...the service not so much

They describe themselves as "casual fine-dining", and I would say this is a perfect description. On a warm June evening, I chose to spend two tremendous hours with the 3-course-with-wine option - I chose Soup, Main & Dessert, and all were amazing. The Lobster soup with baked rice to start was one of the finest, most carefully seasoned soups i've ever had.My entreocote was beautifully cooked (to medium-rare), with a gorgeous Japanese omelette, and to finish, I had a gorgeous sorbet with rhubarb - and deep-fried elderflower.Beautifully presented, with the perfect wines to accompany, and a beautiful evening to sit outside on the streets of Leipzig, this was genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant.

An-Nam is one of the most authentic Vietnamese restaurants we found on our month-long European holiday. The food was delicious - we ordered chicken pho soup and one of the daily specials which was fried chicken with noodles. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. Be sure to get there early or make a reservation. We arrived at 5:00 pm; by 5:30 pm, all the tables were filled.

Zchaca offers very inexpensive lunchtime food which is why it is so busy. Open kitchen shows that meals are made up freshly. But it was worth investing a bit more for great tasty and freshly prepared sushi, we selected 4 variants - two of which warm - served on a single large slate platter. Thanks! Weâll happily come again.

We dropped in here just before a concert, and were served swiftly by friendly English-speaking waitresses. We ate some excellent main course noodle soups - just the sort of light food one needs before a show.
