Taverna Kreta Is a nice Greek restaurant in the middle of Halle. The waiter helped us through the extensive menu and then provided free ouzo to start the wonderful meal. Credit cards are not readily accepted so take cash.

Gut sitzt man im Wintergarten, obwohl hier geraucht wird, aber das merkt man kaum. Das Essen kam angemessen schnell und war lecker. Häufig wurde nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist, so dass man sich wohlfühlte. Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal hier.

At the market square there is this small, lovely Greek restaurant with a nice view on the red tower and cathedral.I had the Spezial Teller, which turned out be a massive quantity of the standard meat dishes (suzuki, souflaki, etc), with a salad side dish. To me, it was good, but could have been a tad more delicate, so a bit less salt in the suzuki, a bit less dry souflaki, etc.The free ouzo before and after dinner was tasty and generous. The staff was friendly.

This place reminded me of a film My Big Fat Greek Wedding.We were a group of 18 and reserved tables beforehand, and this place look pretty crowded (for Wednesday evening). To bad, there were only 2 waiters, who spoke poor German and even poorer English. That was a pure chaos: it was impossible to catch at least one and explain what we wanted. The stuff was really nervous and did not seem to be polite. First, the waiter forgot to ask what I want (I was 5th at the table for 4 people) and left. Then we called him again. When he brought us beer, my friend got a wrong one but he ignored, saying, he can not solve all problems and ran somewhere else(!!!)When we got our foods, another friend got no salad, but he was said he is not supposed to. Then we showed the menu, the position of the waiter changed, he said the salad already was served(!!!) Finally the brought that salad at the end of the evening, when we finishing our food...Interior reminds that old-fashion GDR restauraunts with plastic ceilings, fake stones out of plaster and flowers. The menu is way too big! the number of dishes was around 450+ but the difference was just few ingredients in each! It was hard for us and for the staff to remember the order and at the end we wrote our numbers on the napkins.BUT Food was very good! After eating we almost forgive that terrible services. This is the only restaurant in the area, so if you have enough patience, you may try it, but I'd prefer to go to the city center.

the original albanian restaurant.running by albanians ,nobody over there is greek,they are albanians,the food is not even close to tradittional greek food ,for albanian food is not bad!!for greek food not even close,for people who travel to greece and special in places like crete they can see a big different,if you want to eat like original albanian go there,if you want greek food try somewhere else because is a waste of money in that restaurant,i dont think they learn where to cook food over there
