We used this Hotel as a stopover en route to the UK. Centrally located with easy street parking it suited our needs. Large clean and tidy room, mini bar and tea/coffee facilities. Comfy bed, although bedspread was in need of a clean as stained and should have been picked up by housekeeping. TV in room, no English speaking channels. Pleasant buffet breakfast with good selection of bread, croissants, cereal etc. Tea and coffee is brought to your table and refilled as requested. Small well stocked bar area by reception. Friendly and helpful staff, we would happily use again if in the area.

We were departing from Saverne on our canal boat vacation and stayed here before our trip. The staff were very nice and very helpful, not only during our entire stay but when we needed somewhere to store our cold goods for our canal boat, they put them in their walk in refrigerator for us. Nice simple typical European breakfast, close walking distance to shopping and other restaurants and easy walking distance to the harbor for our canal boat rental.

After a successful renovation la Garenne re-opened its doors in September 2019 - and we (couple) were among the first guests, staying for a whole week. Neither the town of Saverne nor La Garenne were known to us before. We enjoyed every minute of our stay - looking forward to the individually prepared breakfast-buffet each morning. The spacious rooms were pleasant even for a longer stay. The in-house restaurant is offering good food with an authentic taste of the ingredients and a regional touch. We liked the very convenient range of dishes, including a couple of small starters (tortilla chips, flamiche ...) allowing guests to not order three course meals only. Very relaxed. And a sustainable attitude of the owners completes the picture. And by the way: Saverne with its restaurants, bakeries (Konditoreien), the Rhine-Marne-Canal running right through town, an impressive hidden Jewish cemetary in the woods and lots of nature all around was a nice surprise too.
