This warm and cozy restaurant is found in the "old town" of Sauze d'Oulx. Bookings are welcome and strongly recommended at weekends. Although generally dogs are not permitted there are occasions when through prior arrangement a dispensation may be granted.
10 of us guys visit here every year . Vince the owner is a top bloke , food and wine is excellent and the service is great . Pork cheeks with mustard sauce were delicious . Always a top meal here . Thanks again Vince

L'ortiche situated in the main square of Sauze d'Oulx, intimate restaurant with approx 100 covers, Italian cuisine with an extensive wine list, booking recommended.
We visited here as a group of 4 for a birthday dinner. Staff were lively and welcoming, and all spoke english. Food was fine dining and delicious, we had the house red wine which was great, and we shared a meat and cheese platter for antipasto and had a main each. The special of Argentinian steak was amazing! Recommended for a nice dinner in Sauze.

We visited here twice to eat during our weeks stay . The food choices are excellent, food gorgeous, staff attentive and service is quick and efficient and it's always busy . Prices very reasonable too . Wonderful ambience , we will revisit when we come back next year . Highly recommend it.

The food is absolutely fantastic, the wine list is extensive, and the service is attentive. The owner Jordon speaks fluent English, Italian, and we suspect French and was very helpful in describing the nightly menu. She also reccomended a fantastic local and affordable wine that complimented the meal perfectly. I have lived in Italy for 2 years and often find resturants all have the same average menu. Not so with this restaurant, the menu was unique while maintaining its delicious Italian roots. I highly recommend a visit to La Barrica. The location is off the main road located at Via Faure Rolland, 510056 Oulx Turin, Italy, for some reason my GPS said it was on SS24, luckily we stumbled across it while walking through town.

I have been going to Sauze for thirty years. This restaurant has got something for everyone and is great for families. Pizza, pasta and great meat on the grill.
The Milanese with chips is perfect for kids, pizza is good and meat and grilled veg portions are generous and tasty.
Restaurant is roomy and family friendly.

How can an Italian restaurant mess up pizza? - sadly it seems this place can. The restaurant used to be a great place to eat (up to last year) but this year the food seemed to be prepared with cheaper ingredients and not well cooked. Sadly, won’t be returning.

Every year we walk at least once to Tachier and have lunch here. The location is nice. The food is genuine and tipical of this mountain region.
It is not suitable if you wish a light meal. We especially enjoyed the stay before and after lunch.

It is always lovely to be surprised by good food. La Stella surprised me by the high quality and simple approach to food. Cook it, serve it and enjoy it. The cook agreed to cook a few dishes not on the menu on the evening we were there although the place was full and they had to turn down clients dropping in. Go there, you will not regret it!!!

This is one of the towns more up market restaurants, but maintains the welcoming feel of the town. A very attractive dining room with linen table cloths and full table set up let you know that this is not a cheap pizzeria. The menu and wine list live up to the decor. Prices are above that of other places, but it feels worth it. The food was unusual but all our food was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly which made for a very pleasant evening. I would recommend this place for those that want a special night out during their stay.

Keep this in mind: weekend prix fixe was 15€ and, for that price, the quality of the food was good.
With that being said, I was not a fan.
The local is fine, easy going and comfortable. It's quite big and the place is packed on weekends - Reservations are a must and they do not pick up the phone during service hours so, keep that in mind.
What bothered me was the noise. So loud! I really felt like I was back in junior high, having lunch at the refectory ;)
I was also turned down by the 2h30 it took to sail through lunch. By 2pm we were still waiting for our "secondo" and I was not hungry anymore.
Not my type of place, I was hoping for something a bit "cuter".
Service was very friendly and cordial.
If you have a chance: when making your reservation, ask for a table which is not under the Television. The whole room watches it and many stand next to your table while you're eating ;)
