If you are thinking of giving this place a try, I’d recommend to save your precious thai baht and dine somewhere else. To support my claim, here’s the review of my experience there. After reading numerous “good” reviews here, i’ve decided to give it a try and find out for myself. The buffet costs 490 baht per pax without any drinks provided. Drinks are on order basis and it isn’t that cheap. Anyway, thats not the main point. The point is the seafood are not fresh at all! Choices were limited as well. We had some grouper fish, prawns, squids and other limited choice of seafood available. Dining time is limited to one and half hours only and the food we ordered only arrived 30 min after that, not to mention that the crowd was minimal on a Saturday night. The barbecued seafood had no seasonings at all, squid is mostly burnt and the fish wasn’t fresh (that kinda fishy taste). Besides, the ready to eat food was just okay. The only thing that was commendable were the fruits. There are definitely many other restaurants around to spend your 980 baht in the island.

Tucked away (turn right at the end of Walking Street) some distance from more populous areas, Barracuda is owned and run by Simone, an Italian gentleman. I ate seafood dishes on my visits and the huge barbecued prawns, in a delicious sauce, were to die for. A very friendly and relaxed place to dine.

There is standard menu but friend recommended I go for BBQ seafood .you pick seafood and price is told to you .It comes with chilli and tangy butter sauce.I had prawns which were massive and rice with calamari .Loved the sauces and chilli was quite hot, they gave out complimentary water with this selection .Service when came to bill payment wasn't greatest so something needs work

Great joint to chow down on some authentic Thai cuisine before finishing it off right next door at Monkey Bar with some interesting cocktails. Idyllic spot to unwind whilst enjoying the lapping waves crash onto the beach here on Lipe.

I can only imagine that the poor reviews here are from people who have no idea what good food tastes like. I've lived in Thailand for 8 years and this is one of the best seafood BBQs I've been to anywhere in the country. In particular, the grilled prawns and red snapper with seafood dipping sauce were nothing short of miraculous. We ate here 3 out of the 5 nights we stayed on the island and deeply regretted the nights when we went somewhere else.Just ignore the comments about bad service as they are probably from people who have no idea how to behave themselves in Thailand. We had nothing but friendly service every time we came. Moreover, it's barbecue served on plastic tables on the beach so you should not expect it to be a Michelin-starred restaurant. Just relax and enjoy the amazingly fresh and delicious seafood!

We had dinner on our last night in Lipe and were not disappointed. Some of us wanted to have meat skewers and others Thai dishes, so for us was a great place. We had beef skewers, meat was good although overcooked as most of the restaurants in Thailand, not a bid deal. Salad was very nice. One of my family order crab fried rice and it was very delicious. Staff are friendly, the place was full but we did not feel overcrowded, atmosphere very friendly.

Right on the beachfront, real Thai food. Delicious spring rolls deserved piping hot. Main course was hit and miss only due to slight language barrier, waitress not sure how to describe level of spice in yellow curry which was HOT!! Sweet and sour was lovely....would go again.

Had lunch , I had ginger chicken with rice , was absolutely delicious, in fact the this was the only place were I had a decent serving of chicken as other chicken dishes on lipe was minuscule , no issues with service as I had lunch and not evening meal .

On a rainy evening we had no other choice than to eat at the place where we stayed. I am glad it rained, the food here was simply amazing. In addition the staff are really sweet and nice.
