This is the second time we have stayed in Isabelle’s beautiful chateau and it was just as wonderful. Stylish rooms, delicious dinner, homemade treats for breakfast and of course wonderful wine. We really appreciated breaking our long drive at this special place and the generous warm and friendly welcome from our hostess.

Not easy to find a place to stay in this area with very few and far between hotels. A wonderful haven of peace and quiet awaited "in the middle of nowhere" at Iguerande.. I stayed for two nights (for professional reasons) at an excellent value for money rate. A warm welcome, good info on the area around, super-quiet room. The evening meal was a delight. Super fast WiFi. I'll be back !

Stayed here along with another family for one night as a stop off travelling back up from the south of France. Only opened summer last year but so worth a visit. Very warm welcome, English spoken as well as French. The train was amazing, original upholstery and carpets, really comfy beds, we all slept very well. There is one toilet to serve the rooms on the train and a separate shower block with a further toilet. It's a train, and an old one, so don't expect rain showers, en-suite loos and mood lighting, they didn't exist back then! We ate in the old station building, there is a restaurant but you need to book in advance. We took the gastronomic menus and were very impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Very reasonable for €40 a head excluding drinks for 4 courses. Breakfast was in the train dining car, and what an experience. We ate with 1938 solid silver cutlery with the Wagon Lit logo, and all plates, coffee pots, tea cups, salvers etc. are all originals from the Wagon Lit company. There then followed a guided tour of the trains and their contents from the owner, Gregg, whose story is almost as interesting as that of his trains! At present, there are 2 trains, each sleeping 22 people and the dining car can accommodate 44. Work ongoing to make a further car wheelchair accessible as well as the restaurant car. You are staying in a piece of history so probably not ideal for young children due to the original furnishings and antique crockery. The 3 children, all over 8, in our party were made very welcome by all of the staff. Only point we raised was the lack of curtains at the windows on the Orient Express carriage, but were assured this have been planned for!

Chambres d'hotes Maison Mazille is located right under Cluny, in one of the most beautiful places in the southern part of Burgundy (the Maconnais) Beautiful rural location with picturesque views over the garden and green meadows with grazing horses. The authentic, attractive accommodation consists of an old depot (storage) from 1970 and has been completely renovated.
We visited Maison Mazille in September and found it absolutely stunning. The rooms are beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Beds were very comfortable (even my very particular princess-and-the-pea partner slept great on them). Breakfast was delicious, hosts were super friendly, altogether great value for money. Can highly recommend it, we'll definitely be back for a relaxing break in the country side.

Bed and breakfast, with four charming guest rooms in Leynes (Southern Burgundy), at the crossroads of the Beaujolais and Maconnais vineyards.
Thoroughly recommend! Anne-Sophie and Jean-Marc are true hosts (they are super helpful and nothing is an issue) and their property is superb. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming wooden entry doors. Behind them is a real gem - expansive courtyard, lovely views and a great guesthouse in true French style All the workmanship is very high end. Think double glazing, non creaking floors and steps, very high pressure showers etc. Great area too - stunning in the hills outside Macon with lovely walks over a hill to Pouilly Fuisse and Mount Blanc in the background No doubt we will return

In the small village of Melay (30km from the Route du Soleil), you will find an old notary house where you can stay throughout the year. For short stay or a longer holiday you are most welcome. Breakfast included!

We had a wonderful stay in one of the family rooms. The room is spacious with a separate room for the children. Beds are good as well as the bathroom with double shower. The homecooked meal was very nice as well as the local wines. The children enjoyed the garden, the game/movie room (with PS4 and netflix) and the free Wi-Fi! The hosts were very friendly, the accommodation was really nice and clean. We had a fantastic stay!
