Reviews on American food in Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo Province, Caribbean. Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and a UNESCO world heritage site, is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas and one of the most populous cities in the Caribbean. The city is a mix of old world charm and modern Latin flair. Its medieval palaces and fortresses mix with nightlife and shopping to rival any modern city in the world. You'll find pristine beaches and hidden gems like a salsa/merengue club set inside a huge underground cave.

I wasn't crazy with Burgers until I discovered Carls. To be a fast food place the meet is of high quality. I love the bread less burgers, not too add additional calories. The burger are quite expensive, but they definitely worth the money.

This was our 2nd and last day in Santo Domingo and we were invited to eat at Chef Pepper. Service was great and fast, we had mozzarella sticks (very good), Chicken brochettes with yuca mash (was ok but yuca mash was delicious) and chicken breast also with yuca mash (was also just ok but there was 1 portion with red and of course yuca mash was excellent). The best part was the yuca mash

LUGA Restaurant An unpretentious, but a very nice "lugar" for Foodies....Those who love Burgers and more ! Yesterday I took on the busy streets of our dear Santo Domingo to do some architectural errands...like old times. For us, oldtimers, our City has grow into modernism, but-at the same time- it has become an unfriendly megacity for drivers...at all times and in all places. OK; Miami is certainly worst. Not to comment on other megacities What about traffic in our dear (second Home) city of Orlando ?Is not the same; Rush hours there are just that; RUSH HOURS and not traffic jams at all tines and everywhere. They are working on a longtime planned "modernization" of I-4, all its lanes and intersections, but as old Architect and Urban designer I have many doubts that it would be a longterm practical solution. Reality in urbanism has showed us otherwise; widening roads attract more and more traffic...as we can see either in Miami or right here, in our Caribbean Island, like I suffered doing my errands yesterdayAfter those errands, being alone, I felt like having an early simple dinner in an unpretentious place. Driving south Lincoln Ave I thought of a place that we visited last year with our dear daughter Glorianna...as one of her favorites. LUGA is certainly and unpretentious, simple place that began in what was a house-Car-Porche (Marquesina in spanish) serving just hamburgers. To my surprise it has become a much bigger and nicer deco place, but its mainly a perfect "Foodie joint" to enjoy some of the greatest Burgers in town I ordered what I was there for...one of their great Burgers; a "Mush Burger" I waited my burger having a nice "Cosmo"...while I was there, within less than an hour on my selected lonely corner table, the place became fully book of what seemed to be their "regulars" costumers. After having my delicious 8 oz selected meat burger with creme cheese, munster cheese, crispy bacon, caramelized onions and, of course, freshly gathered tomatoes and lettuce...I was about to finish my early dinner, but AGAIN; nothing ends until it really ends ! My dear wife call me saying she will join me for a quick bite...and few seconds later our dear daughter Lisandra called willing to join us with Jesus, her husband. That are-of course- part of those great pleasures of departing with family...in an improvised manner ! Among their multiple and flavorful recipes to share, we tried their "Dip de Chorizo". Excellent to be sharing with its nice spaniard chorizos melted on white cheese and to be enjoyed with white Mex-tortillas. Among many others we were tempted by their typical "Mofonguitos", "Nachos" and "Salchichas Parrilleras with honey mustard" ! After many more appetizers and Burgers- The Black Pepper, The Porcini, The Chimi Burger etc- paired by more Cosmos, Martinis and Mojitos we ended -late into the night - content with life and what life has given us, like those previous moments with family...perfect to forget those terrible traffic, driving throughout those crowded street of our dear modernist Santo Domingo. Before I forget; service, even not too well trained, was very friendly Prices, no-doubt, are alluring and well set to all kind of Foodies...as they would not hurt any pockets ! If craving for great burgers in a simple, but nice place........GO THERE ! You will not regret my advice !

Hard Rock Cafe is a global phenomenon with 185 cafes that are visited by nearly 80 million guests each year. The first Hard Rock Cafe opened on June 14, 1971, in London, England, and from there the brand has expanded to major cities and exotic locations a
Me and my boyfriend are visiting Santo Domingo from the US and we were in Blue Mall shopping. Decided to randomly try the hardrock cafe because the seating area had a nice view. To our surprise the food was below standards and the service was terrible. We ordered 3 different meals and they all were defaulted. The food clearly wasnât made by someone who wanted to make their customers happy. When we brought it up to management they were not proactive in fixing the issue. I asked for my salmon well cooked instead it was served raw, still pink and slimy. They took it back to fix and brought back the same salmon, this time it was over cooked and unpleasantly served on the plate. I really tried not to complain but I refused to eat it. After 40 minutes back and forth with management they finally took the dish off my bill and I found a nice meal on the first floor of Blu Mall. I donât recommend for food.We appreciate your visit and taking the time to share these comments with us We are very sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience! We take your comments very seriously and it is unacceptable that the food was not up to our standards, being the salmon one of our most popular dishes We will take inmediate actions on the matter and hopefully you could see a difference if you give us an opportunity on a next visit
