Reviews on Barbecue food in Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo Province, Caribbean. Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and a UNESCO world heritage site, is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas and one of the most populous cities in the Caribbean. The city is a mix of old world charm and modern Latin flair. Its medieval palaces and fortresses mix with nightlife and shopping to rival any modern city in the world. You'll find pristine beaches and hidden gems like a salsa/merengue club set inside a huge underground cave.

After spent some time El Malecón with the family, we were eager to eat steak at D Luis Parrilada, the steak was as good as ever, I had fillet Mignon, the sisters had fish & Solomo? All steak stayed great, the only issue was the wait time, we arrived at 11:15pm, we got our meal at 11:55pm, had we not been so much into our conversation, I would have left the place. The server never once stop by after the initial order, not once. Once the food arrived, I asked, what happened, why it took so long, he brought a supervisor or manager who apologized by saying, sorry, we had to send someone to get the filet Mignon, what we had wasn’t good enough. Well, good, but why no one ever said a thing? We had also ordered a Mofongo to go, they forgot & comped the Mofongo. Frankly, we left happy with the food, disappointed wit the service.

Our family has been stopping here for years, each time we make a trip to Samana. Often times we stop there going both directions because the food is sooooo good - even when we are not hungry. It is "backyard BBQ" food at its finest!Make the stop - you won't be disappointed.

The wife and I went there for dinner this past Saturday night. From the moment you walk into the restaruant, you enjoy the warm ambience, and one knows immediately you are in for some fine dining. it is also a lot biggter than what you guess from the street. The wine menu is extensive and the food excellent. The Rib eye was a nice thick pience of meat and done just the way I like it. I will say it was a bit fatty, but that always brings out that special tase. A little bit more fat than a regular rib eye. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers first and two bottles of wine. The only negative I can think of is that as soon as we sat down the waiter was there with the wine menu and two recommended bottles. However, we took the recommendation and greatly enjoyed both. Big plus for us, is that we like to take our time when out for dinner and at no point did we feel rushed. Definitely would make an effort to eat here when in Santo Domingo.
