Reviews on Barbecue food in Santiago de Cuba, Santiago de Cuba Province, Caribbean. Entertainment can be experienced in a variety of ways in Santiago de Cuba. Your ears may find comfort in the Casa de Las Tradiciones, a venue of the Trivoli neighborhood where Cuba's finest musicians gather for improvisation; your mouth, in Paladar Salon Tropical, where mainstays of the national cuisine arrive in generous portions; your eyes, in the Jardin de Los Helechos, home to a floral explosion of 90 types of orchids and 350 types of ferns. The gentile Tivolí district, some of Santiago de Cuba's most exciting ensembles, singers and soloists take turns improvising. Friday nights are reserved for straight-up, classic trova, à la Ñico Saquito and the like.

comida criolla e internacional elaborada fundamentalmente al Carbón ambiente campestre buen servicio y buena Cocteleria
The food was good but not great. The menu is only in Spanish which may indicate that it's more authentic for a local customer base, but the service could have been more accommodating when we asked about the dishes, especially since we were clearly trying to speak Spanish but struggling. Instead, one server acted with eye-rolling impatience and another was downright rude. One word of caution: if you're walking to the restaurant (e.g. from the Meliá Hotel), don't take Calle 6 to get there...there are a couple of blocks just before you get to El Palenquite where we felt very unsafe. We walked everywhere in Santiago and this was the only time we really felt very unsafe.

This is a new restaurant right down the road from the Club Amigo Carisol los Carales. We were there when it was first being built. the owners 1 Cuban the other Canadian. They are mixing it up with a mixture of Cuban and Canadian food. They are great people We didn't eat there as things were not up and running too much but did sit and had a couple of beers with the owners also one of our friends helped to spread the soil around and cement some bricks for the kitchen.Anyway give them a try then put a report of your own on here People are waiting to hear about it. If you want to see pictures go on their site on facebook

This restaurant is a little over 3 years old and created quite the fuss when it first opened. After time and with the opening of quite a few more restaurants in town, this is still a good viable option for dining out in Santiago.A five minute walk from the Melia hotel and almost next door to La Maison, it is in a great location on the edge of the beautiful Vista Alegre neighborhood. The restaurant is mainly "open-air" except for the thatch roofs that cover the tables from rain and sun. A dress code of long pants is required for men and whenever I have eaten there, the food has been great. The prices are also very ideal also for this establishment. Two of us ate well with a couple of drinks each for about 18 CUC tip included. There is also an on-site small, air-conditioned bar, that sometimes has entertainment. Beef, pork, chicken and seafood are usually on the menu. One of those "must go at least once" places each time to Santiago for me.
