Things to do in Salinas
Es una lugar muy cálido y familiar en el corazón de Salinas donde encuentras buena atención, desayunos como hechos en casa con sabores tradicionales, diversidad de postres y bebidas alegres en las noches. Visita pronto Playa Café y será tu lugar favorito!
We always have an excellent time here particularly Monday's special dinners, hamburger Fridays or those special guest dinners cooked by our friends. The original Salinas gringo bar!

La casa de madera is a new unique authentic ecuadorian wooden house turned bar and restaurant beside the night market and overlooking the wonderful beach on avenida malecon in the best location in Salinas. It is run by Cam, a retired Indian/US dentist who is the most friendly, genuine and welcoming proprietor you could ever meet. He has totally renovated this place structurally to preserve the timbers and classic features. There is a long bar serving bottled beer and a range of cocktails at affordable local prices. He also offers hostel accommodation above the restaurant which is a little cramped but newly refurbished with bunk beds to accommodate friends or family of 3 or 4 and affords stunning sea views. The clientele is mostly retired US expatriates, sixty five plus, enjoying the company of local ´nymphs´ in their late thirties or forties and living locally. So it is more like a gentleman´s club than a rave party. It is a place to relax, chat, catch a sports game and generally chill. The western menu is predictable but reliable US wholesome fare if you´re happy with a very affordable fresh home cooked burger better than any elsewhere on the malecon. My only gripe is Cam doesn´t generally use AC in the bar, although he has it above the bar if you request it, but you really don´t notice this because he has the doors open, front and back, and the sea breeze blows through and keeps the bar a very comfortable temperature. There are a couple of other places if you walk through the night market, away from the beach, and turn right. You´ll immediately see Smoker´s bar, which seems aimed at a "younger" clientele with loud music, and beside that you have "D.J´s" bar which i s like a long bar in an alley way. DJs is named after the proprietor D.J. and he does Karaoke on Friday nights some times, drinks are affordable and the Sunday lunch cooked by Kim is always outstanding and very reasonably priced - worth a visit just for that! DJs is aimed at the expat +60s too, and it gets quite busy on Friday nights! These three bars are the only expat bars worth bothering with in my humble opinion. But I would always recommend Cam´s place, first, because it is something special and he made me feel so welcome and laughed, ´we´re like Cheers, where everybody knows your name´!

I decided to open this restaurant because there are no vegan or vegetarian options, the only ones are other restaurants that share their cuisine with foods of animal origin. I assumed that many would have the same problem as me. So Bhakti Lunch opens its

Service and food was excellent. But, they let, unfortunately, a VERY Unscrupulous organization and group of people use their restaurant to sell condo-shares or apartments. Very sad to see 2-3 different people high-pressure couples to buy something that they are familiar with. Very bad!!

Located near midway of Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar, this is one of the local attractions that draws huge crowds of visitors. There is a nice well maintained garden, a small glass window factory showcasing how Mapro products are made, a restaurant offering variety of foods plus ice creams etc, and a big sales shop selling various Mapro products at a discount. Visitors spend time enjoying open restaurant and or purchasing Mapro products like jams and syrups made from local fruits like Strawberries etc.Enough place for parking across the road where one can find small stalls selling local fresh fruits too.

While on a vacation we were taken here on advice and with family. Service was good and the food was decent. With the exception of all of the people peddling items and the minstrel singers, it would have been even better. You just can't eat in peace and enjoy a conversation with each other. Food was served hit and on time. Great value for the money. There were 11 of us and it the bill came to $80.00 or so. Would recommend this place if you can handle the interruptions. Good value and pretty decent food.

Specialty meat and seafood, variety of menu in a lovely placeFall, in love with our unique atmosphere! Service and quality are our calling card. Enjoy our variety of menu.
I've been to Sogale twice, and have enjoyed both experiences. The latest trip was a Valentine's lunch with my wife. Due to our first meal at Sogale being excellent, the bar was set high for the second, and have to say there was a hair of a letdown. I ordered the lunch of the day and my wife the ceviche mixto. Lunch of the day, consisted of a stuffed zucchini starter(very unique), a egg drop/chicken asian fusion soup(crazy good), a main course of pork with sweet and sour sauce, and came with a mango juice. The food, not including the soup, came out room temp., but good flavors all around. My wife had a ceviche, which is seafood mixed with peppers, onion, tomatoes, and usually a lime based sauce. My wife likes it served cold like a shrimp coctail, and it too was a bit room temp. Other than that, pricing was around 20$ which is good considering that the place seems very popular. Only other down side was the wait for the food was a bit longer than I remembered from the first, but the crowd was huge, maybe a reason for it. Try the corvina in salsa mariscos, it's a sea bass topped with a creamy seafood salsa, or the camarones ajillo, grilled shrimp in a garlic sauce...both crazy good.
