I came here with coworkers for brunch. It was highly recommended by one of my coworkers and this restaurant did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in because the place is nice, big, welcoming and very open looking with it's high ceiling. The place is packed with people. Very popular! I was hungry and couldn't make up my mind with so many choices. I settled for their Grand Marnier French Toast. It was one of the best french toasts I have ever had. I will definitely come back.
We were able to bring a few bottles of champagne and they charged us corkage fee which is fine. The service was great.
Parking can be challenging. There is a small parking lot at the back of the restaurant and the rest is street parking.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! First of all the food is simply amazing. Proper Napoli style pizza. But more importantly the vibe here is so great because the staff is fantastic and the owner is really an extraordinary person and a huge talent. There is some sort of fairy dust at work here. If we lived here this would be our local hang out.

Generally just good old Italian food, without any attempt to be particularly splashy or uber-gourmet. The salads were generous, and we enjoyed both a pesto and marinara sauce pastas which were tasty with lots of chicken and shrimp respectively. The service was very attentive and friendly. The prices quite reasonable. The place is bigger than it looks from the street, with a wing at the back with Italian-scene frescoes. Street parking in the evening is fairly plentiful.

We happened to be down the street and I have wanted to try this place so we stopped by. It's a nice restaurant located on the Marina with a view of the boats. We had to wait for our table for about 5 minutes which is ok, but we're we're there for Sunday Brunch and the restaurant was not busy at all. The Hostess seem to be confused that day.
We were seated along the window. Service was good, the Bread and Garlic Butter they place on the table was to die for. The Ladies had French Dip and Fish n Chips and I had The American Breakfast. I enjoyed mine, our daughter enjoyed her Fish n Chips and my wife's French Dip was so so. My wife dated tonight she was impressed enough to go back and try dinner.

Tried the tea leaf salad and rainbow salad which were both unique and extra flavorful and fresh. Calamari and shrimp appetizers were the best appetizers ordered for the table. Samosas were ok but nothing special. Chicken basil, coconut rice and broccoli was delicious. Sesame beef and coconut soup was ok. Overall great restaurant with amazing flavorful dishes. A must try if in the area.

This place has the feel of an old fashioned diner. They accommodated our request for a quiet location and were gracious as we visited when we should have been reading the menu. We had picked up family at Oakland Airport and took guests based entirely on Trip Advisor reviews. It worked. Food portions were ample. Everyone was pleased with their meal. We had one mistake on a salad that was not free of cucumbers and tomatoes as requested. Our waiter grabbed the offending plate and it was gone in an instant. The correct order reappeared within three minutes.

We stumbled upon Asena on inadvertently. The restaurant we intended to go to was closed when we got there. So we walked around and came upon Asena. We're glad we did -- our dinner was delicious and service was good. A solid choice.

Porky's is not from the Old School of pizza that I grew up with -- New York Neopolitan -- but it's a great neighborhood pizza and beer joint, and it's also something of a local institution in San Leandro; it's family owned and has been here for over 50 years, which is always a good sign.
Yes, it's crowded (another good sign) and noisy, with many flat screen TV's, but the pizza itself is noticeably better than the chains, fresh, hand-made and tossed, and those young people in the open kitchen don't skimp on the toppings. I forgot the exact count, but I think there were 18 kinds of beer on tap, including some local micro brews.
Our plain pizza was good, as was a side order of meat balls. A side of Italian sausage was pretty dried out, but hey, it was an enjoyable and inexpensive dinner.
If you're visiting San Leandro (not likely) or the Greater East Bay, this might not be your first choice for Italian dining (for which try Paradiso) or even for the pizza itself (Bluebird, IMO, makes better pizza), but it's a great place to have a basic meal, especially with kids, and mix the the locals.

Recently, I had business in San Leandro, and after getting lost for a while (thanks a lot, FedEx, for the lousy directions), I was hungry...so I asked a local, solamente en espanol (only in Spanish), "donde hay un restaurante Mejicana authentica?" (Where is an authentic Mexican restaurant?)
He told me that there was one on 14th Street, about four or five blocks off Davis, so off I went. He wasn't sure of the name, but he described it pretty well, I stopped and asked in a local convenience store, and the unanimous answer was, "Taqueria Los Persicos," so that's where I headed.
As soon as I walked in, I knew they were right. It was straight out of small-town Mexico, complete with the traditional fruit juices, real Mexican sodas (no corn syrup), a help-yourself fresh-made chips tray, condiments bar (sliced radishes, hot peppers with carrots & onions, three salsas, etc.) and the usual open-air kitchen behind the counter.
I ordered two fish tacos - you got two nice-sized ones on corn tortillas (flour is available, but I wanted the REAL deal), with plenty of fish, slaw and sauce, for $2.75 each. Add on the drink and I spent less than $10 for a great lunch. The chips are the thick kind, so watch out - sometimes, there are "air pockets" filled with the oil they're cooked in (not the best add-on to clothing, if you get my point) - and they are addictive. Try all of the salsas and sauces, but be forewarned - they all have KICK and you'll have that taste in your mouth all day.
I didn't do the beer thing, but they have domestic ($3.99) and Mexican imports ($4.25) - next time, when I'm not driving!! The dessert menu is simple: FLAN at $2.75, and it looked great, but again, those calories, so I said no.
Meal deals are available, starting at $5.99 for a soft taco with rice and beans. Another interesting option is "double-meat (fish)" for $2.25 extra, so you might save some calories if you go that route on a single taco!!
There's plenty of seating, and the busboys are prompt when it comes to clearing tables. There are large-screen tv's for watching games - soccer (futbol) was on one, ESPN on the other, and the patrons were friendly. Parking is available in a lot that is shared with quite a few other businesses, so you might have to search a bit, but it is worth it.
All told, a great experience.
