Stayed a night during our trip to Izumo, not knowing what to expect but booked it because it had good reviews. Stunned by the spacious lobby and very well appointed interior decor - beautiful tatami hallways and lots of wooden beams and sand plaster walls creates a traditional Japanese feel - yet with all the modern amenity like central heating, wifi, and a great coffee free of charge at the lounge area. Some rooms has roten-buro (bath) in balcony, made from Hinoki. The hotel also has many public baths and saunas, it is a true luxury to stretch at one of them and then enjoy a free candy bar and ramen after the bath. The food was excellent too. Due to the fact it is a big hotel (Usagi and Keiun - two hotels connected, Keiun being quieter and high grade), you need to pre-book the breakfast and dinner time upon reservation, and the food service feels like served by airline cabin crew (efficient and fast) - but the quality of each dish is well above average. Will definitely stay again.

I've never stayed such a terrible hotel ever. As I heard that this is a No1 hotel in Tsuwano,I chose this hotel. The room was very old, small, damp and dirty. I saw several cockroaches in my room and I got a tick bite there. The furniture in the room was so old and spooky. It was not worth the price, 9800JPN! Too expensive! It was said that this hotel had big bath with onsen. But the water smelled a kind of chlorine. I advice not to stay this hotel.

It is possible because it is a hotel directly owned by a major fisheries wholesale company! ! The freshness is outstanding and the price is super exceptional! ! In addition, you can enjoy two kinds of hot spring unusual in the ryokan at the inn.

The hotel is across from Sakaiminato JR station, about a 50min (cute) train ride from Yonago. The area has one of the largest ports known for snow crabs and all sorts of fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. Visitors enjoy the crab markets in the area and seafood restaurants on a street with the theme of comic creatures by Muzuki Shigeru, a famous cartoonist from the area. This hotel itself was amazing. It was spotless, and every details from Ikebana flower arrangement to comfortable room with all sorts of amenities made us feel welcome. For foreign travelers they had a handout in English explaining their system. This enabled the foreign guests take full advantage of what the hotel offered. The top floor had natural Onsen hot spring baths with water so soothing to the skin. All necessary amenities were prepared by the hotel. The breakfast was known for create-yourself-Chirashi sushi and all the spread at the buffet with Japanese and western foods. Again the seafood here was so fresh. What made this hotel so special was the staff. Their hospitality was genuine, and showed they care. They made us feel like we came back to a home away from home. Definitely worth the experience.

From the moment we arrived till we departed, excellent service from all the staff was experienced. A relaxed check in comfort accompanied by drinks. The rooms had so many facilities not seen in most hotels, e.g. the face wash, shaving foam and aftershave in addition to moisturiser and lotions for ladies. Complimentary Snacks & teabags were refreshed daily. The best experience was the keseki dinners we enjoyed on both nights. Besides the fresh ingredients, the two serving staff went out of their way to translate the ingredients so that we could understand. I hope that hotel management will convey the appreciation from all of us staying in 301-304. I attached a photo.

This a large hotel in a traditional style. It has hot spring communal baths and the rooms are traditional Japanese style with mattresses on the floor rather than beds. You also get kimonos to wear whilst in the hotel. All rather fun. Our tour group had a full traditional Japanese banquet which also very good.

Second night in hagi, and we moved from hagi 1 rin to hagihonjin. Facility is better. Staff well trained. you can taste the bad management. Ice cubes, you have to pay. A ride to the top of the hill, you have to pay. As you walk out of the hot bath area, they dont give you water but they are rubbing their hands with a display of cold drinks. When we booked, we had had enough of blowfish, but, no option to change the menu. No option for room only, bit no option to change menu. Ditto for brekki. The worst was the noise we suffered from upstairs. Insulation wad obviously poor, and there was a family with small kids above us. so noisy and we rang the reception to complain, but the noise continued until midnight. This is a very quiet time, majority of the rooms are empty, why would you put a family with small kids above anyone. Shows how bad the Management is.

We stayed there for two nights at the end of Nov. It isn't located near the Tottori JR Station, guess it takes abt 10 mins to walk there. There are some shops along the streets. After check-in, the staff gave me a bag of amenity. Shavers are available on front desk. Parking lot is available for guests. They charge for 500 yen. Room is clean and bed is comfy too. Wifi is okay.

Poor service and the things you get does not worth the money you paid for. The nightmare started from getting to the hotel. They offered free shuttle bus service from Kurayoshi station, but have to reserve it before arrival. I sent out my request 3 days before through agency website but no reply until I arrived. I tried to call them 2 days before for literally hundred of times, but the line was either unreachable or no one picking up. Both the agency and my previous hotel tried to call them but came back with the same result. So I ended up spending another ¥470 on bus to the hotel. This huge hotel only has 1 receptionist knows how to speak English but not there all the time. Very unprofessional receptionists who do not even know how to process payment with MasterCard. Both the dinner and breakfast experience was awful, the quality of the dinner was bad, can’t believe I paid so much for this half-board stay. Not much food choices during the breakfast buffet, can’t imagine this kind of standard is from a onsen hotel. I was charged ¥150 extra for onsen tax which was not stated neither on my agency website nor check-in form. It’s not much but the feeling of unawareness is sucks.

Visited here for 2 nights. It is up to most Onsen Hotel standard in Japan but no surprise except one of the dinner where the main dishes is beef which is so great. Room is huge, staff is nice, ocean view is great. The only thing that I can complain here is 1. Outdoor Onsen is very small. May fit 3 pax only with comfortable zone 2. No rest area for free milk or tea or small gold drink (except water) after onsen as most of other Onsen hotel Rest of the service is great.
