Reviews on American food in San Ysidro, San Diego, California. San Ysidro (Spanish pronunciation: [san iˈsiðɾo]) is a district of the City of San Diego, immediately north of the U.S.-Mexico border. It neighbors Otay Mesa West to the north, Otay Mesa to the east, and Nestor and the Tijuana River Valley to the west; together these communities form South San Diego, a pene-exclave of the City of San Diego, thus making it possible to travel (by water) between central San Diego and South San Diego without ever leaving the city limits. Major thoroughfares include Beyer Boulevard and San Ysidro Boulevard.

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes creates an all-you-care-to-eat dining experience with a daily selection of made-from-scratch soups and salads and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and tasty desserts.
Souplantation is related to Sweet Tomatoes, and set up in much the same way. You go through a cafeteria line to get your salad, then there are stations for soup, breads, pasta, desserts, etc. It is an all-you-can-eat restaurant. My biggest issues with both Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes are the lack of high quality protein and fresh fruit. There are bits of chicken in the chicken soup and cheese on the cheese bread. There is probably some protein in the soft serve ice cream. The beans are scarce, but available in the salad bar.It is an all-you-can-eat restaurant. My biggest issues with both Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes is the lack of high quality protein and fresh fruit. There are bits of chicken in the chicken soup and cheese on some of the the breads. There is probably some protein in the soft serve ice cream. In short, you really have to work to get good protein and avoid being snowed under by carbohydrates. Then there is the fruit issue: you would think that in Southern California there might be a fresh fruit salad or something.Still, Souplantation is a good choice if you have a group with many differing food requirements and tastes.

Having to deal with the hustle and herds of people at the border is a mighty "Frustration" one is lucky to find a quiet spot to enjoy a bite to eat. I was pleasantly surprised to find "SUBWAY" serving a decent priced and even better tasting BREAKFAST ...Great service included...Thank you !!!!
Looking for a burger restaurant near you? Well, the search is over at Carl's Jr.®, where you can dig into your choice of juicy, mouthwatering, charbroiled burgers. Whether you're in the mood for a veggie burger like our plant-based Beyond Famous Star® bur
Husband decided to select this carls jr establishment as his choice for fastfood on his birthday as we ended our road trip. We both ordered $6 burger combo meals to our dismay opening our burgers we discovered that the crusts of both burgers were gone exposing the interior of the bun as you C on the photo. I mediately call Carl's Jr because we had paid $15 and was not happy that Carl's Jr Drive Thru felt it was okay to handle burgers and buns in this condition. Hey young lady answered the telephone and heard my concern she stated that Carl's Jr would take care of it since she agreed that it was expensive to have received such a product in that condition. She put us on hold while she spoke with a manager to see what could be done, upon her return she stated that we could come in for 2 free meals I thanked her for the offer however explain that we resided 3 hours away at which time she stated that her manager stated that they could molest coupons in the mail. I appreciated the offer and provided information. I had to call a week later to inform him that I have not received any coupons or refund on my meal and they still stated that a manager would contact me. I will be contacting Carl's Jr Corp in emailing any pertinent staff to show them the food quality that is going out of their restaurant. We will not be stopping here its a regular the regular stop on our way to Rosarito but no longer.
These chicken tenders are the best I've ever eaten, SERIOUSLY!!! They are delicious!!! Most chicken tenders are dry, salty and the garlic they add is overpowering. "Chicken Now" tenders are lightly coated and actually taste like chicken and not overpowering spices. The chicken almost melts in your mouth! They are always so hot when you receive them that you can't eat them right away. It really does not taste like fast food. It's part of a Food Court
At Church's Chicken, we make real meals with the heart of the south and the Spirit of Texas giving our guests the chicken you crave and the taste you deserve. We've got pure honey-butter bliss with our made from scratch Honey-Butter Biscuits and that spic
We were grabbing food before a concert and settled on this place. The establishment was a little run down, it was busy and the food was a little more expensive than expected, but we had already decided so we ordered and got out food to go. We weren't expecting much but when we got back to our hotel I would have to say we were surprised at how delicious the food was! The chicken was so moist and the breading was so light and crunchy, I also really liked their coleslaw...YUM!!!

I visit Say Ysidro every year since 2007 during my last visit San Ysidro in December 2016 I usually go the local Cocos Restaurant but over the years the quality of food has been very disappointing. Last week I ordered Chicken Marcella with baked potatoes and roasted vegetables. After a long wait the Chicken was lukewarm and rubbery my guess it was microwave and left to sit on the counter till the baked potato was cooked. As for the baked potato that too was not hot and just barely cooked. The Roasted Vegetables left a lot to be desired. Three thinly sliced pieces of zucchini and one slice of carrot. Also ordered a slice of apple pie and this too was too sweet. I returned the chicken and finished my potato and vegetables by the time the chicken was returned I was ready to leave and left it on the table. Iâll not be going back.

For more than 65 years Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves; where they can enjoy classic American comfort food and everyday value. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Here, you ca
I know everyone has been to Denny's and knows the food they serve but what makes the biggest impression with me especially from a national chain is the level of customer service and this one is right up there with 5 star restaurants. My server late at night had worked there for 20 years and loved it!

This IHOP right at the border serves the normal menu of IHOP, the staff is bilingual but the service tends to be a little bit slow, it´s located inside the Americas Plaza so you can grab a bite before or after shopping there
