My husband and I had great hopes for this little restaurant. It came highly recommended as a classic Puglianese Trattoria. And frankly they do serve good cucina povera fare. No complaints there.
But the price we were charged is anything but povera. We were charged €28 for a simple (but ample) antipasto and €14 each for a basic tomato pasta. And the service was rushed and far from the relaxed southern Italian atmosphere we have come to expect. For the first time in over a month, we were even presented the "conto" without us asking for it. Clearly we were taking up space.
We have eaten at Michelin-starred restaurants in Puglia (the excellent Al Fornello da Ricci for example) and had smaller bills and far superior service.
Bottom line - we would recommend this trattoria if the prices were half what they are. As it is, this is a ripoff.

This locally well rated restaurant was quiet on the evening we visited and service was quick and efficient. Internally the decor is quirky and kitsch and with so few diners the atmosphere was flat.
The food from a fairly limited menu was, though, exciting and original. The renowned pasta flambé
prepared next to our table was an exercise in culinary theatre and the resulting dish was superb. Other dishes were less spectacular but of equally good quality. Another plate of gamberoni flambéd in rum was generous in quantity and very tasty. All in all it was a good experience and La Ficarigna well worth a visit.

A very good typical antipasto assortment started dinner, accompanied by a good Susumaniello Salento red wine.
Pasta dish for the primi was nice, the mixed grilled meats and grilled steak were good (though the steak had a lot of fat and gristle).
Service was good and efficient.
Dinner for two, with water, one bottle of wine, one shared antipasto misto, one shared primi (pasta), and the two meat seconds came to a reasonable €65.

This is a very pleasant restaurant to relax and enjoy your lunch, the waiters are very helpful and friendly and try their best to talk a little English. The free pre starter they serve of fried, prawny, dough balls are delicious and their dessert very tasty but their fish is horrible. On our first visit we tried their grilled seabass, it was dry and although they deboned it at the table, mine was still full of bones and our grilled vegetables were cut thickly and undercooked. We had a small bottle wine and water and shared a lovely creamy, fruity dessert. We paid €60. As the pre starter and dessert was so good and the staff so helpful, we decided to give this place another try a few days later .. big mistake .. this time we ordered the lobster pasta. When in Italy this is one of my favourite dishes but what we were served at this restaurant was awful! The pasta was overlooked, the sauce thin and the lobster tough and tasteless. I couldn't eat mine but my husband ate his .. and also my lobster .. not because he liked it, just because it was so expensive and he was paying the bill! We again shared a tasty dessert and enjoyed half bottle wine and water. For this meal we paid over €100!!! Definitely not worth the money for this lobster dish but who knows maybe their fried dishes are better .. for now we've had enough and won't be trying a third visit.

Went here last night with my partner and family. Amazing location which faces the sea..the restaurant if fairly big and the view is amazing! You better book as it gets very busy(also if you'd like to seat on the terrace). Big seafood menù and also lots of pizzas. We had 4 different pizzas and each one was delicious. Friendly and very quick service..nice and cool breeze inside the reataurant..only negative point: no mosquito nets or candles,so either get some spray or prepear to get bitten!
Such a nice experience overall, must go!

I have been to this restaurant with a "pizza coupon" and everything has been ok, from the starters to the coffee...the pizza has been excellent...thin and crispy crust... I'd suggest this pizzeria to everyone who wants to taste some real Salentine kitchen or a delicious pizza by the sea.

Really loved this place. The flavours hit home and were just what one would expect. The mixed appetizers were plenty and good assortment, mainly vegetarian and fish. the pasta with the breadcrumbs was very interesting and I was surprised at how good is was with such basic ingredients. Fair prices and good service. Will go again

"Il Castello di Momo" is a tipical restaurant in the heart of Salento, an amazing experience to enjoy. Our restaurant is located in Capece family's baronial court (1400) where you can breathe the magic atmosphere of history. Our food is a mix of genuine apulian tastes and original flavours from around the globe. We are a family crew: Peppe is the manager and his father Franco is the chef. We've always had a passion for cooking because we think it means innovation and creativity. Our costumers is a second family and we like to delight them with our specialties and our welcoming manners. "Il Castello di Momo"is a place suspended in time: you just sit down, enjoy the colours and flavours of our dishes, drink a good glass of wine and dedicated to yourself a few hours of relax.
The restaurant is charming with a gorgeous outside dining area. The menu catered for fish and meat lovers and each course was celicious. The waiters were attentive which added to the experience. Very reasonably priced too. We travelled extensively throughout Puglia and felt this was by far one of the best. Thoroughly recommend.

A small restaurant on the corner of the main street of Tiggiano, a small town about 13km north of Leuca. The dining room is spacious and cool and perfectly in style for this part of the world. From the antipasti to the spaghetti with seafood, through to the main course and dessert, you could not ask for more. An excellent selection of local wines at bargain prices. The seafood is as fresh as it gets. Prices are more than reasonable considering the quality you are offered. The service is rapid and friendly and I can't wait to return.

Salento is not an area reknowned for its meat, that is fine,as the local cuisine can make up for that no prob, but after several months of fish and seafood and fresh cheeses, a nice steak is surely appreciated. we found the braceria by word of mouth and rightly so. The place was first a butcher shop and still is on one half of the building.
I had a strip steak with french herbed butter, which was very tasty, but my husband's burger really caught my attention. The perfect combo of Italian and American. The bun was fresh and puffy, but not prefab and the fries were great. The restaurant is geared towards a younger crowd but that was half the fun. The prices were fair, about 35 euro for two.
WE went back the next days for some BBQ meat and it was all very good. We will return!
