We went mid-week and expected it to be quiet, but obviously the place is very popular. There were a lot of people the were clearly regulars as the staff knew them by names.
We managed to get sat in a quieter area which was nice, as we just wanted a relaxing evening.
The waiting staff were happy to chat, and upon leaving the owner even offered us a complimentary glass of Limoncella whilst we were chatting about Italy.
We highly recommend this lovely place.

This is a large moorland Country Pub that offers dining in the pub or in the restaurant. Excellent menu and wine list, warm and friendly welcome. Four of us ate 3 delicious courses here on a midweek evening 2 bottles of wine and beer £130 staggering value for money as the food was both delicious and well presented....a very pleasant suprise indeed and deserving to be represented on TripAdvisor.
Visited here as a group of six recently for Sunday lunch and cannot praise them enough, the food was outstanding and the service first class, highly recommended.

Everything about my first visit to this restaurant for lunchtime fish and chips was perfect. The view of the sea from our table on the first floor, the welcoming and efficient staff, the cleanliness and the perfectly cooked cod and chips served on nice plates. The toilets also matched the standard of the restaurant.

We always enjoy our cappuccinos and lattes here when we visit Saltburn, especially the free biscuit/mint. Staff seem very friendly. Blankets on chairs outside if a bit chilly. Good prices. Lots of lovely food too if you're tempted.

We are a family run business and our food policy is, "Fresh Is Best."
Lovely pub, interior very cosy but unfortunately didn't feel welcome initially. Lacked a bit of atmosphere. Had a Sunday roast which was amazing, plenty of meat and vegetables and surprisingly good value. Recommend the lamb.

Booked the Kings Grill for a family and friends lunch just before our Golden Wedding anniversary as we would be away on the actual day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals which were beautifully presented and served. We'd chosen 3 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts and sent out menus to the guests beforehand and given the selections to Sandy (the organiser) a few days before the event. My wife had organised the Seating plan which was given to Sandy on the morning together with each guest's choices. When the dishes were served the waitresses went unerringly with the dish to the correct recipient, no suggestion of 'who's having salmon and prawns' etc.
Most of the guests were from out of town but two local couples have been back to the Kings Grill because they enjoyed our lunch. The out of towners have suggested that we make it a regular event.
The Kings Grill is not open for lunches, but will take private party bookings on days when the restaurant is open in the evening. My wife and I couldn't fault anything on the day including the price which was very reasonable.

Called in for lunch to find the place very quiet and somewhat chilly. Every customer who came in had to wait at the bar as the barman was chatting round in the restaurant with other members of staff. Ordered sharer plate for two which consisted of TWO very small breaded mushrooms, TWO half chicken wings, TWO pieces garlic bread, TWO small halves of baked potato with a little grated cheese on top and a little heap of salad. Very disappointing for £9. Chicken /bacon pie came in a small dish with a sliver of pastry on top, mushy peas were cold as were my companions portion. Asked for tartare sauce for companions fish and chips, the young waitress literally threw 8 sachets on the table At no time were we asked "how was our meal?" If so I would have told them. Yes, prices were up but one will pay if service and quality are right. Won't go again.
