Monday night & we needed somewhere to eat. Sunfish was one of the few we could find that was open. Very casual; friendly staff and fresh fish. Mike & I both had the hake & calamari combo with oil-friend chips (vs not-so-nice oven (chips). This came with a little salad on the plate, which looked freshly made.My disappointments were the tail end of the fish & chips which were spiced. I prefer a fatter piece (a fillet) of fish & also to salt my own chips: I keep forgetting to request this.Very reasonably priced: R90 each for the combo and R75 for a pleasant bottle of Darling Cellars white wine

We were not 100% sure what to expect when we first arrived to check out the fish restaurant on the harbor which the locals recommended... but it exceeded all our expectations!Melody and Charl (the owners) build up this little gem over the last year, and shared their story with us of âblood, sweat and tearsâ to revamp this place on a tight budget and timescale - most of the furniture and decor are handmade. It is a lovely atmosphere, right on the harbor with tables inside and outside.And the food... we had the simple but delicious Hake and Chips, a big portion of delicious Hake with light batter perfectly fried, as were the chips. And the âcherry on the topâ - handmade tarter sauce - all Melodyâs own recipes.You can BYO wine with no corkage fee, which is a bonus!As we left, a family of 8+ arrived for their famous milkshakes - apparently another amazing speciality. Weâll have to go back for those milkshakes ... and more of Melodyâs fish!

In spite of the sign outside advertising "Pub and Grill", we went inside for some lunch. After a few minutes of being totally ignored by the bar staff, we enquired about the lunch menu only to be told they don't serve food. The interior smells heavily of cigarette smoke so probably would not have been conducive to an enjoyable meal anyway. But if they do not serve food, they should remove their 'Pub and Grill' sign.
