A restaurant serving seafood, sushi and a variety of international type dishes!Stunning views and ambience. Friendly staff and excellent food!
We visited after 15h00 for a late lunch on a Saturday, the location is perfect, overlooking the bay and the beach of Paternoster. The interior is warm with love to details and the service is very friendly. The food just blew us away, very tasty and beautifully presented, definitely value for money. We actually asked the chef to come to the table to express our satisfaction. We will be back for sure, keep up the amazing work!

Do not miss this perfect little spot . Views for days in a shabby chic setting . The food and service were first class .We had the quinoa salad, calamari, halloumi, carpaccio, mushroom pasta , ostrich . Every dish was beautifully presented with fresh ingredients and was delicious . We also loved the Homemade bread !And for dessert the malva pudding and pear and apple tart were super . The sago pudding was less remarkable. But we would go back in a heart beat .

This restaurant came as a recommendation & we werenât disappointed. 140kms north west of Cape Town, the sleepy coastal villages along the way provide a scenic distraction as you make your way to this destination. The menu is thoughtful, with fabulous combinations to tempt your palate. The wine list matches the food well and the ambience is relaxed.Dear GuestThank you for taking the time to post such a lovely review of your experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your meal and that all your expectations were met.We look forward to having you join us again soon.Kind RegardsThe Russells on the Port Team.

My wonderful wife Lisa treated me to lunch at Wolfgat in Paternoster yesterday for my birthday. Everything, literally everything, was exceptional. Firstly, the view from the patio of Paternoster bay is exquisite. Then, the beer we ordered â Queue de Lion Super Saison â was sensational⦠easily the best beer Iâve ever tasted. And then we came to the food. Oh. My. God. I canât describe it as the best meal Iâve ever had because it was more than that, much more. It was a taste sensation unlike anything Iâve ever experienced, and each of the eight courses only seemed to get better and better. Chef Kobus van der Merwe and his hand-picked team of expert waitrons all work together to prepare each course. We had been asked to arrive promptly at 12.30pm which we did, but because a couple of the other tables (20 pax max) were late, we were served a snack of a mixture of finely minced limpet with nutmeg in a limpet shell on a bed of salt. Once everyone else pitched up, the standard seven course set menu began. We commenced with a sizzling pan of bokkom (dried fish)-flavoured butter with a cloth bag of homemade sourdough bread sticks which were a delicious stimulation of the palate.Next were oysters two ways: the first was a warm oyster with marinated mushrooms, seaweed and sage flowers; the second was a cold oyster âon the rocksâ with grapefruit and sea pumpkin. Both dishes were just divine. Then we had black mussels in their own broth, with fresh and fermented âveld asparagusâ sprinkled with fresh wood sorrel. Superb.A dish of lightly seared slices of springbok loin followed, served on a bed of pureed âheering beanâ (a kind of white bean), dressed with dune spinach, kruipveigie (a form of dune vegetation) and crispy seaweed. After this we were served Wolfgatâs take on âtjokkaâ (the local term for calamari). They serve crispy strips of calamari with a wild garlic masala, peach mebos (dried fruit), bokkom sambal, yoghurt and sweet little red berries called slangbessie in a soutslaai leaf, which you eat as you would a soft taco. Stunning. Our final savoury course was a delicate portion of angelfish gently poached in milk and butter infused with rooibos tea leaves, under a layer of succulent seaweed. Again, delicious. We ended the meal (sorry, tasting experience) with a dessert of amasi (fermented milk) sorbet on a slice of guava with pickled cucumber, orange-buchu masala and kiesieblaar (wild mallow) and sat back in awe, delight and perfectly sated satisfaction. Lisa was driving so she had a coffee with milk and organic coconut blossom sugar and I finished the magnificent beer.Service was informal yet faultless, the restaurant was spotless, each course came on gorgeously different styles of crockery and cutlery and the modesty and humbleness of Kobus was breathtaking considering his restaurant has won such glittering international honours. The table next to us had the wine pairing, and Kobus described each glass in detail, reflecting his passion for exceptional taste. Everything he serves is sourced locally and sustainably, which Iâm sure contributed to Wolfgat winning the accolades it has done (and no doubt will continue to do). A visit to Wolfgat is something I would recommend people from around the globe to do. Book a flight to Cape Town, a car, a stay in Paternoster and a visit to the finest foraging and mainly seafood taste experience ever. You wonât regret â or forget â it.If I could have given seven stars to this restaurant I would have. You have to book â and pay â months in advance, so keep checking their website.

We visited after reading reviews on trip advisor and thought... Why not.I do like the fact that you welcome to bring your own bottle of wine and only pay corgage which is R50. The place itself is cute with all the little lights around and very welcoming. We were shown to our table and menus was promptly laid down for us. Now I do love a bit of fish and when on the coast, I always tend to sway towards a fish dish, whether it be a starter or main. I decided to opt for the calamari starter. I'm afraid this is nothing to wright home about. Calamari was oily and not tender at all. I ate it though as I was starving. My partner had steak tartar. Well, the whole point of a steak tartar is the theatre of making it yourself at the table, mixing the steak with the confit egg yolk, capers, mustard and shallots together and enjoying the meal. None of that here I'm afraid. Steak tartar is brought on a crisp bread and came with yogurt! Yogurt? Mains we had steak accompanied by bone marrow and some chips and fish with sweet potato fries. This course was good actually which we were ever so grateful for. I will give compliment where its due and my steak was cooked to perfection and a good portion too and so was the fish dish. Put this same effort into the starters and you have a winning combination. We would have liked the owners to come and check if all was OK, if we enjoyed our meal, walk round interact with the customers perhaps and waiters to be more attentive.

Enjoy a culinary journey of refined and contemporary West Coast cuisine at the newly opened Leeto Restaurant by Chef Proprietor Garth Almazan. Authenticity and local specialities merge with sophistication in both the menu and restaurant design. Leeto (kho
Exquisite view and ambience. Service was of an excellent standard. Although the 3 course special is exceptional value for R295, we didnât want dessert and therefore opted to share the carpaccio starter which was good. The mains were exceptional. I had the line fish and my husband had the loin of Springbok. We would definitely return. Highly recommended and good value.
We were not 100% sure what to expect when we first arrived to check out the fish restaurant on the harbor which the locals recommended... but it exceeded all our expectations!Melody and Charl (the owners) build up this little gem over the last year, and shared their story with us of âblood, sweat and tearsâ to revamp this place on a tight budget and timescale - most of the furniture and decor are handmade. It is a lovely atmosphere, right on the harbor with tables inside and outside. And the food... we had the simple but delicious Hake and Chips, a big portion of delicious Hake with light batter perfectly fried, as were the chips. And the âcherry on the topâ - handmade tarter sauce - all Melodyâs own recipes. You can BYO wine with no corkage fee, which is a bonus! As we left, a family of 8+ arrived for their famous milkshakes - apparently another amazing speciality. Weâll have to go back for those milkshakes ... and more of Melodyâs fish!

We are family orientated and enjoy to make you feel welcome and enjoy a good meal or just have a few drinks.
Monday night & we needed somewhere to eat. Sunfish was one of the few we could find that was open. Very casual; friendly staff and fresh fish. Mike & I both had the hake & calamari combo with oil-friend chips (vs not-so-nice oven (chips). This came with a little salad on the plate, which looked freshly made.My disappointments were the tail end of the fish & chips which were spiced. I prefer a fatter piece (a fillet) of fish & also to salt my own chips: I keep forgetting to request this.Very reasonably priced: R90 each for the combo and R75 for a pleasant bottle of Darling Cellars white wine

Cosy relaxed atmosphere on the west coast. The chef owns the place, therefore the food is always great. Cater for functions, parties, etc. Fresh fish always available and the best steaks in the area.
Received with a smile by Alyssa we were made to feel welcome immediately. The menu isnât huge - but thereâs a great spread including the Ribs which we were told were JPs speciality. Itâs great food served with simplicity . . .Donât judge the book by the cover - the building does the venue no favours.

Restaurant on the beach with the best sea view on the West Coast. Under new management from 13 February 2018 with the original owners Don & Connie. Fresh produce with a touch of Portugal and true West Coast hospitality !
View: I don't know many places that have such a front row to the perfect view of blue skies and blue ocean. The light breeze and great inviting setting is just perfect for the holiday mood.Food: Great selection of food and wines. I had the 500 gram Espetada and it was just prepared with perfection. Was so soft and tender, no steak knife required. All round it was a great relaxing experience and true value for money.
