This is a little gem of a restaurant. It is buried in the mountains of rural Saitama but a convenient stop on a hiking course. Access is straight forward - about 3km along a track / narrow road from Togo Park & Shrine entrance. The building is single story old and wooden - with heating from small wood burning stoves in the centre of each table. The menu is basically in two parts. 1) Udon: wheat based thicker white noodles with different soups and toppings for an average price of 700 yen (you can make the serving large, i.e. omori, for another 150 yen). 2) Japanese style desserts. The service was bright friendly and cheerful..... and the food was gorgeous. There is parking for about 6 cars and it seats about 30 people. One week days it is not so busy. It is closed each Wednesday and the 4th Thursday of each month. A real gem set in a forest.
