A large, clean, quiet and comfortable room with a very nice bathroom (shower only). Huge gardens and 2 warm water pools. Good breakfast served in the Chateau. Friendly and helpful staff. An elegant and peaceful base to explore the area of the Dordogne River and nearby Sarlat. You must have a car. In the countryside beside a tiny hamlet... but easy to find from the main riverside road. And the restaurant, a bit expensive, is well worthwhile. A gastronomic adventure!!! We are planning to return.

Located near Beynac, Les Hauts de Saint Vincent B&B is an ancient XVIII th century domain with an amazing view of the Dordogne river and the Milandes castle. We welcome you in 5 comfortable bedrooms with individual bathrooms or an independant gîte for a couple and have also an outdoor heated pool in the garden. Dinner available on booking Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
We stayed 9 nights and found Stephanie an excellent host. Breakfast and evening meals were in the garden when it was warm enough or at a communal table in the dining room. Stephanie prepares tasty home cooked meals three times a week. We booked a double room with a single bed to give us plenty of space. The swimming pool is very clean and warm with sun loungers to read our books. The building is even nicer than it looks on the website. Very convenient for the Dordogne’s attractions. Stephanie helps all the guests with local suggestions for restaurants and day trips. Its a very friendly, happy place and we would recommend it to our friends.

We had rented the place for a week with 2 couples. The internet was hardly accessible, but we could live with that. After 2 days, our troubles began. The gas cooking plate sparkers started sparking non-stop, and then the power went out. We notified the owner, who fiddle around for a while but did not solve the problem. One of us, discovered that there still was a fuse off and in a kind effort to help, he flipped the fuse and the power came on in the entire apartment. Problem solved! For a reason that we still don't understand, that set off an anger with the owner that is beyond imagination. He started shouting and cursing at us. The man, being very big and intimidating, told us to leave at once. This was about 8 in the evening! He walked through the house and started kicking the kitchen cabinets. After about minutes of shouting, he told us we could stay the night, but we would have to leave the next morning before 10AM. While kicking his kitchen, he also had hit the door of the dishwasher, which became totally upset, as we found out the next morning. By then he had sent an email, that we could stay if we would apologize, to which we did not respond. We discussed if we would stay and decided to do so, particularly because the alarm number and contact email of Booking.com, through which we had rented, had not responded to our alarm calls. The guy did not show his face again, while we washed our dishes by hand. We did not tell him about the dishwasher he ruined himself, so as not to offset another outburst of anger. Seemingly, this guy has very serious anger management problems. If you are willing to live with the risk of severe anger outbursts, then this is a nicely located place, but there are endless other opportunities around. Also question booking through Booking.com. In a case of a serious emergency, like this truly was, then they are totally unresponsive, both by phone and email. We never received a response!
