What can I say about this hotel that is of a positive nature ? Nothing, I'm afraid. First advice: do not trust the pictures on their website as they do not make justice to the disaster this hotel really is. We booked based on their website pictures and were fooled by the outrageous price into thinking the quality would be in line. Not to the slightest. (we paid 270 euros including average quality dinner for one with one glass of house wine) We arrived late and had to negotiate a substantial flight of stairs all the way up to reception. Thankfully neither me nor my husband are handicapped (no handicap access to be seen anywhere unless they consider the back access to the swimming pool past the garbage bins as one ...) The decoration is a joke, a mix of a bad version of Cirque du Soleil with a garage sale from my odd auntie. The bedroom ? Well, I don't even know where to start, from the bed headboard that does not match the size of the mattress to the ridiculous furniture all around ... I don't think I have stayed in a worst place in my life. To add insult to injury my husband got Legionnaire's disease and this is actually the only place where he could have got it. When I called, after he got out of hospital where he stayed for 10 days fighting for his life, the manager's reaction was defensive and of complete denial mentioning it was impossible as they comply with the law, etc etc. But out of interest, he never asked for our name, date of stay or any other personal details so he could at the very least isolate the room and call the relevant authorities as an urgent matter as this is a potentially deadly disease. He held onto his guns and that was it. As a side comment, Legionnaire's is a bacteria which may be present in either water pipes or jacuzzis or in unclean AC units. In our case it is in the AC unit because we were so disappointed with the bedroom we did not even take a shower in the morning, instead we left early and went back home. Proof hopefully will be provided in due course as the relevant French Health Department has been directly notified by the hospital where my husband was treated. So. That brings me back to my review's title. Run for your life ! Literally.

Located at 3 km of Uzes. We are pleased welcoming you in our 18th century house, totally renovated. Our 5 rooms are all different. You will enjoy our garden with swimming pool and jacuzzi.

This is a lovely country property in an old but beautifully maintained building. Breakfasts were included and generous. Herve and Valerie are the most gracious hosts. But the gardens are breathtaking. Not in a sophisticated, carefully manicured way, but so varied and serene. There are walkways, patios, trellises, a gazebo (with fitness equipment!). The pool is much nicer than the photo. Schedule some time to linger. Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie is a lovely town to explore with lots of artists workshops to visit and a nice little museum. Uzes is bustling and fun with lots of history. Plan to attend the Saturday market - what an experience.
