Great value for a family of six, catered for children, teenagers and adults with superb quality food and service. Every meal was delicious and there was lots of sharing around the table as we all sampled each others meals. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and helped make our evening extremely enjoyable. Highly recommend for all.

This may look to be a fairly ordinary restaurant from the road (it is in Guchan, on the right of the main road travelling between Arreau and St Lary) but it is a really good place to enjoy a well-cooked meal.
On arrival you will find that there is plenty of car parking space immediately outside. Once inside, the Seating and tables are well spaced apart and, overall, it is a comfortable place to have an evening meal. In good weather there is also the option to eat outdoors on a large Terrace adjoining the main building. The decor inside is rustic but also clean and bright, with attractive place settings on the tables.
Service is friendly and efficient. The staff seem to genuinely want to be helpful and are attentive. Both waitresses that served us spoke very good English but were happy for us to try our French when we wanted and as well as we could.
The menu offers plenty of choice and reflects the food of the local area (duck, lamb, pork & beef) though seafood also features extensively. As with virtually all restaurants in France, there are a selection of set-menus at different prices, as well as the option to choose individual dishes from La Carte. Whatever choices you make, you are unlikely to go hungry - the dishes are hearty and portions are substantial! There is a good wine list with reasonable prices and the option to buy some wines by the glass as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here with friends and all agreed it was an excellent "find". I've no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to anyone with a good appetite!

Went for a birthday lunch but the menu was very disappointing compared to previous years and the waitress got our order mixed up and then blamed us despite other members of the group hearing us order correctly. Menu was quite limited and very pork and lamb orientated. Ran out of kids meals and desserts were very average. No fois gras on the menu either. Gave 4* as previous visits have been very good.

We stopped at this very busy family restaurant having luckily booked a table. It has a great local atmosphere and a varied bistro style menu. Our middle daughter said "it was a great steak and chips, but I particularly liked the massive pudding". Highly recommend the restaurant for some well cooked and tasty food.

Nice place. Really friendly waitress but the food is mostly average. There are some much better places in town. The cassoulet was a bit bland and tasted fatty. Definitely had better. The pizza was ok. The lasagna was a great hit however! The gateau basque was good. Nice wine too.

In the middle of the centre of Saint Lary is this restaurant. According to our host, this restaurant has the best raclette, fondue de fromage, of the area.
We had a raclette traditional, and it was very nice. However the raclette savoyaise (not sure if I write this correctly) did look a lot nicer.
The staff was very friendly. I recommend this restaurant (as long as you like cheese of course)

We enjoyed a good value tasty lunch here. Service a little slow perhaps but we were happy to take our time and relax. Excellent omelette, salade verte and saucisse de Toulouse

We found this restaurant on our hike from Saint-Lary-Soulan and returned by car in the evening. The chef owner and his wife, the server were very welcoming. The food was delicious--we tried the traditional Pyrenees Basque soup with large chunks of potatoe and carrots; salad with terrine; and main courses of mutton steak and pork chop. The main courses were served with large portions of haricots verts for one and white beans for the other. Our meals were hearty and tasty--it might take a bit of extra effort to find this restaurant but we think it's worth it!

Had excellent crepes here and really good service. We were here in August 2013, place was quite busy but we got a an outside table in no time. Waiter spoke english which was useful, and unusual in this area.

Fab food, friendly staff, quirky setting. Even our 3 yr old loved it. Drawbacks that might annoy some, but not us (so be warned): it's very small, so only one WC, as with everywhere in France lunch was a _leisurely_ affair and took ages. I still highly recommend it.
