Our hotels are as accessible as our prices! The train station, the Exhibition Centre and the centre of Caen are a mere 3 miles away. B&B Hotel Caen Mémorial is also close to the N814, which takes you to the A13 and A84 motorways. Talk about convenience!
Dreadful

We had a mentally disturbed person in the next room who constantly banged on our door and was running against his bedroom wall as if trying to bulldoze into our room. He also kept trying door handles to other rooms. The reception is closed at night no staff available. On complaining this morning the guy was incredulous stating that the guy was a longer term hotel guest and the hotel is aware that he has caused problems with guests previously. At breakfast my daughter who was in a different room was subjected to her door handle being tried several times, and s family of 4 from Holland were also disturbed by him and they were on a different floor. This is very disturbing. Further to the above mentioned the paid for breakfast was a farce. Don't waste your money. I would like my money refunded. Have just returned back to the hotel to find the reception guy hasn't made any effort to move the mentally ill schizophrenic. The receptionist thought it quite amusing . I don't find it funny neither acceptable for this to occur and not be dealt with appropriately. The response from band b client services was to have the reception at the hotel deal with the matter. B and b clearly don't want to deal in the short term client interest. The response is atrocious given they had my phone number. All this and I had trouble with my second booking at a b and b hotel who despite being paid over 330 euros in full two years ago made errors and told me my account wasn't paid. This hotel chain is a joke! The response from client services was to contact reception, this I had already done. Clearly giving me the runaround.

Reviewed By Possie1982Very cheap and easy to find. No towels, water running all over the bathroom when taking a shower. Typical one night stay, but very mediocre rooms... friendly welcome though. Next to the main highway and thus easy to find and to part from.

Reviewed By veganbikerdudeGood location and the facilities are as expected of a Formule1 hotel. Large car park and supermarket with petrol station right next door. Breakfast cheap and cheerful, but some more fresh fruit and soya milk wouldn't go amiss. Staff friendly and accommodating.

Reviewed By alegge448385This a cheap and cheerful hotel. Some redecoration around the ensuite door would be in order. Otherwise I was warm and slept well. A smoke alarm went off in another room but was dealt with in about 5 minutes. I will keep it in mind for my next trip through Caen.

The hotel was spotless and comfortable with a very good value restaurant next to it and some others just a short walk away. The main plus was the staff. Everyone we spoke with was very friendly and helpful, more so than normal. We ordered some deliveroo food and a flash storm meant it was cancelled. The hotel receptionist offered to make us some food, which was fantastic! We would certainly stay again on any return trip.

Very bad experience
Reviewed By IsabelKairosThe first night at the hotel was acceptable but the next two ones went worse until unexpected limits. The hall in every floor always smelling bad, like in a teenager camp. The bathroom also, smelling awfully from the first day. The floor wasn’t cleaned enough. From the second day the real problems appeared. Firstly, we didn’t get our towels cleaned back the third day, even though we left them on the floor, according to their instructions. The second day we just got cleaned one of them. The only thing we got done was the bed, they made it every day but I insist, never cleaned. Secondly, the blankets never got cleaned in all our stay. This also happened to all the room: floor, table, etc. Furthermore, they give some paper glasses in the first day but we used and threw them and they never gave us new ones. Additionally, they never put more toilet paper during our stay. Just one of all the receptionists could understand some little English. We had to explain EVERYTHING in our broken French, and when I say everything I mean everything. They did not even understand the word ‘check out’. When we left the hotel, we wanted to say politely that the room wasn’t cleaned and the receptionist who understand English didn’t give to us any explanation, meaning something like ‘take it or leave it’. It is necessary to say that the affirm in the first place that the room services are included so at least an apology would have been nice. If they had said an apology, I wouldn’t write this bad review. But they just ignored us. For the ones who get breakfast: it is extremely poor. Just bread, croissants, juice, coffee, and some types of jam. Nothing more. But for the price I guess it’s enough.
