Labuan /ləˈbuːən/ (Jawi: لابوان), officially the Federal Territory of Labuan (Malay: Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, Jawi: ولايه ڤرسكوتوان لابوان), is a federal territory of Malaysia. It is made up of the eponymous Labuan Island and six smaller islands, and is located off the coast of the state of Sabah in East Malaysia. Labuan's capital is Victoria and is best known as an offshore financial centre offering international financial and business services via Labuan IBFC since 1990 as well as being an offshore support hub for deepwater oil and gas activities in the region. It is also a tourist destination for people travelling through Sabah, nearby Bruneians and scuba divers. The name Labuan derives from the Malay word labuhan which means harbour. Labuan is often referred to as the pearl of Borneo.
Things to do in Labuan Island
Had our lunch at this restaurant on the last day of our trip. They do serve/customize their selected dishes for Vegetarians which is really great as it's not easy to get Vegetarian dishes at Labuan. Food was really delicious and with good ambience and clean restaurant. Recommended to try
We got to choose live flower crabs from the water tank and had them in two styles; the steamed crab was the best! Never tasted such fresh and meaty crabs in my life!We also ordered fried squid, grilled fish, fried morning glory and mixed vegetables. For such big portions to feed 8 of us, we only paid about RM150 in total! The best way to have all these seafood is to have them grilled or steamed as plain as possible. Located by the sea, the restaurant is built with the seating area extended into the sea. Nice and breezy, come as early as 6pm for dinner for it gets dark very early and navigating the roads can be rather tricky.
The food here along with the views, the location, the staff and service here is top class. All the food is cooked fresh and to a very high standard.Would highlight the need to book a table to save being disappointed when you get there. The spicy crab and fresh fish were my favourite.I would highly recommend Mr Crab.

Great location with a nice sea view and sea breeze. Offer lot of super fresh seafood to pick for. Need to be there before 7pm unless you have booked earlier. Price is reasonable for group dining. Excellent seafood cuisines like steamed fish, butter prawn and grilled fish with sambal. Labuan is the heaven for seafood lovers.

A very popular seafood joint in Labuan frequented by locals and visitors. Good food, reasonable price and good service. The person David is very helpful and friendly. You choose your seafood from the big tray and they will cook for you. We had prawns, a fish cooked 2 ways : steamed and Asam pesas, cray fish, crab and vegetables. All below RM200.

My first visit here for dinner with family, it was recommended by my wife's friend. There are actually 4 stalls operating under one roof. My personally picked stall (No. 1) sadly out of crabs (ketam) but I asked them to order crabs with their neighbour anyway.Upon arrival, there are many diners already (we arrived at 8PM due to my detour earlier).Pro(s)-Located by the sea, should be a beautiful view if come by day.-Many parking lots available next to the restaurant.-All the seafood are fresh and put in aquariums whereby we can pick by ourselves.Cons:- The place is quite secluded, you have to drive or get a Grab as I think there are no public bus stop here. I myself was a bit lost as I relied with my Waze.- This place seems to be overrated, my favorite restaurant (Island Tomyam) near the airport foods taste better.- Long time to wait for our food.- Price is a bit higher than normal. We ordered flower crab price RM45/kg, while in Semporna it's just RM35-40 depending on the stock availability but nowhere RM45!- The salt-egg crab was not even salty, it was too sweet! Looked like they even pour half scheme milk there!- Local ambience, not much decoration not like Chinese Seafood Restaurant anywhere.Summary:Unless a miracle happens (like I had an amnesia or such), I won't be back here again.

Stayed a couple of times at the Tiara but never had the opportunity to savour their food at the restaurant until I was invited there. Wow! A must try restaurant for their array of seafood that was served there. Had a few dishes but a must try is their seafood curry.

I would like to share my personal experience of visiting this restaurant. The best time to visit is until 19.00 - the restaurant is not yet full, you can choose a place on the terrace and choose more seafood. Do not wait until the waiter comes to you and brings the menu, it is better to choose what you like right after entering, but weigh all this and order it to be prepared according to your wishes. The choice of seafood is large, and at 18.00 it is much more than at 20.00.We asked to be cooked on the grill, without any local spicy or sweet sauces ... huge tiger shrimps 6 pcs. , fish the size of a large frying pan, vegetables in oyster sauce and fried rice, plus 6 x 0.33 ltr of beer. For all paid 220 local ring, about 75 USD. The price is quite reasonable. The quality is excellent and the speed of the order is fast. The staff speaks good English, you can pay by card.
