Reviews on Asian food in Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia. Tropical Sandakan is a paradise for animal lovers. Watch turtles lay eggs at Turtle Islands Park, keep a giggly distance at a crocodile farm or share an impish smile with some of the residents at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. The houses on stilts in the fishing village of Buli Sim Sim are perfect for sightseeing and photographing.

Wanted to try something different so went to this local haunt behind the Four Points. Delicious food at remarkably low prices. All sorts of roti and the egg-plant (aubergine) was absolutely delicious. The salads were large and tasty. The curries were really really tasty. Try the fish curry and the chicken curry, though basic, was rwally tasty. We will return.

Came across this restaurant in a website while searching for places to visit during my stay in Sandakan. The view was good as it is situated above the sea waters. Good cooling breeze. However, the food was lousy! Not worth a single penny. Would definitely not recommend anybody here.
Fresh and delicious seafood with reasonable price. Located at Sim-Sim water village. Air-conditioned dining rooms. Open air dining area with sea view. Experience the Sandakan's sea view with variety of fantastic local food at great value of money. Drinks
We were met at the entrance by a lovely friendly hostess who advised us from the picture board as to her favourites- which incidentally were not the expensive dishes- so we chose two of her suggestions, fish with ginger, lemon grass, coriander, lime and garlic. A whole fish which was lovely and fresh and delicious followed by squid and clams served with vegetables. Very tasty. My husband and I wanted to try the local lobster which was served with butter and cheese. Again delicious for two lobsters !! Tiger beer and final bill very reasonable. This place does not have the bright lights and load music of 88 but would really recommend it. Lots of locals eat here. Final note toilets clean. Hostess phoned for a taxi for us and even phoned the taxi driver when we were in the cab to check we were home safely. Sad we are only here for one night.

H90 on the left, was not the more popular 88 (on the right) restaurant but a worthy choice to consider. Quality was good during my lunch hour visit. The restaurant wasnât crowded but the food was fresh. Dinner may have more choices and we took a table nearer to the ocean. The afternoon breeze was superb. Beer was served with iced bucket and small chilled glasses.

Experience the Sandakan must-try cuisine in a nostalgic Little Hong Kong setting. Conveniently located at the heart of the city centre, San Da Gen is the first stop for anyone who is embarking for a food journey around Sandakan, Sabah.
Coffee was great but French toast was only OK. Clean restaurant but no working restrooms ... had to flee to the adjacent hotel for that. Wouldnât return, but not sorry I came!

We found this café on our first of two nights in Sandakan; great find! Very tasty and good quality food and our first nightâs choices were Indo Sambal Fish, Black Pepper Prawns and seafood fried rice. They also serve wine and beer and so had a perfectly acceptable Argentinian Chardonnay Chenin wine ⦠We also had the best location for a fabulous moon over the sea that night. We returned after our three-night stay in the jungle and it was lovely to have some great spicy and tasty dishes after the bland ones served at our Lodge. This time there was no moon but the most amazing thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Another front row seat.Highly recommended for good value tasty food and great staff.

Located at Harbour Square Waterfront, My Harbour Restaurant is famous among the locals and tourists. Experience the Sandakan harbour view with variety of fantastic local food at great value of money. Drinks serving from local coffee, variety of fresh juic
The reviews are over rated. The food dishes that we tried, squid, fish, prawns were all deep fried with lots of batter with the chosen sauce over it. The rice is hard and cold. The lemon juice was the worst drink we ever tasted.
