Beautiful wine and champagne collection! Fabulous fresh breakfast and superb dinner from the Duchess Restaurant. Great special drinks at the bar. Be sure to meet very high standards. Definitely deserves 6 stars.
The Brasserie is a good spot for families but our menu choices were very disappointing. Perhaps they have specialties that we missed. Safer to go to the Stubi or Basta or their Chinese....or elsewhere. The Christmas rush might have added to the poor quality and service. The waiter was charming but slow and extremely confused. Brought us red instead of our white wine choice. Sauces for entrees arrived after long pause. Pomme Frites are safe choice.Better spots and certainly more affordable dining options delivering a much better product.Be very specific as our waiter brought the wrong selections after POINTING to the items on the menu.

a real nice Italian restaurant, with good choices and normal prices. Staff is also very good. We would recommend this place.

Restaurant Sommet is closed for the season and will welcome you back on the 6th December 2019. The Sommet restaurant is the jewel in The Alpina Gstaadâs crown, with one Michelin star and 18/20 Gault Millau points paying testament to the restaurantâs excep
FOOD - OUTSTANDINGWe opted for the 8 course Chef tasting menu and did not regret it. While all courses were a joy for the eye and the palate the duck liver crème brulee (2nd course) stood out thanks to its creativity, the pigeon breast (4th course) was great and by far the best I've ever had - and you'll currently find the pigeon in (too?) many tasting menus, and the veal saddle (6th course) was a worthy climax of the great chef's tasting menu. In terms of taste only the smoked yolk with caviar (5th course) did not blew me away (but it looked fantastic). But that might be more because I've never been a huge fan of caviar. So all in all, a fantastic food experience! I would definitely go back.SERVICE - FRIENDLY BUT TOO HECTICThe crew was very attentive and to the biggest part also very very friendly but overall the service did not kept up with the food. There was too much running, far too much talking - the service was far too noisy. Of course we had a table near the entrance to the kitchen and there was a lot of walking by, but everybody knows that a hectic service rubs off on your guests. It was not the classy, unobtrusive and highly educated kind of service a 1 star and 18 point restaurant should have. I guess this is the compromise you have to accept when you are a family hotel too and have to serve a high level gourmet menu at one table and a burger with fries to a kid at the next table. So don't get me wrong. Overall the service was good, it is just not what you usually get at such restaurants. THE DOWNER - NO SOMMELIERBut there is one thing I do not understand: The restaurant doesn't seem to have a sommelier (there was a wine guy though who poured a little bit of your wine in your glas every 3 minutes... for whatever reason). There was no wine pairing available to the tasting menu (!!) and even after asking for one and looking into the wine menu there was nobody coming to the table and explaining the wine menu and making suggestions. On the positive side: The wine selection is good, although the mark-ups are a bit too high on the high-end wines.

We were absurdly hungry at 330 in the afternoon one day and we didnât want to wait for our dinner reservation at 730 so we thought weâd try out the creperie. We actually really enjoyed our meal! We split a regular crepe âthe Gstaaderâ and a dessert crepe with salted caramel and apples. Both were excellent and hit the spot without filling us up. There were a lot of kids running around as itâs clearly a family restaurant, but as we were in and out, we didnât mind the noise.

Pricey, but worth every centime. The meat is out of this world, and the views are divine. Good service and dog friendly.

What a fabulous restaurant. The ambience is calmness personified and the food is about flavour and quality without an unnecessary level of ingredients or fussiness. We had their lunch menus which was about £65 for three courses or £80 for four courses. After the superb amuse bouche we were treated to a wonderful yellow fin tuna starter and then the absolute star of the show,,,,cavatelli and sea food that had superb flavour and texture.... a dream dish. And so we went on to a wonderful cod dish and then there was even home made meaux cheese. The wine list was excellent, particularly for the wonderful Swiss whites and service was friendly and highly professional. We left highly contented and well fed but not at all bloated......always the give away sign of well cooked and well balanced food. Without doubt one is in wonderful hands at the cesery and it was a great privilege to have eaten there.

What a find in Saanen! Hidden away, this gorgeous restaurant is worth seeking out. Book early as I think itâs a well-guarded secret of the locals! For good reason! On a lovely, warm Summer evening we sat outside on the veranda, surrounded by beautiful flowers and candles. The menu was unique, presented in a bound book, each day showing a new menu sourcing the freshest ingredients. Each meal we had was beautifully presented and faultless. Our table chose a range of salads and the mussels for entree and for the mains the trout was delicious and the beef cheeks divine. The wine list was extensive and we enjoyed some beautiful Swiss wines. Totally recommend this place! It was the best meal of our week in Saanen/Gstaad. Where to eat Swiss food in Gstaad: The Best Restaurants and Bars

It was a cool summer evening, we decided to eat inside instead of on the cobbled street just outside the hotel. Decided against the fondue, which some others seemed to be enjoying. Salad with mountain cheese and escargots for starters, brilliant. The cheese is special. Mains of steak and fish, both done perfectly. Lastly dessert to share, of summer berries with cream, rounded the meal off very nicely. Have no hesitation is recommending this restaurant and would definitely return on our next stay in Gstaad.
