Excellent selection on the menu of meats, seafood and good for the vegetarian too. As the name suggests root vegetables are part of the offerings. Even the simplest of foods were elegantly prepared and tasted that way! Get away from the crowd on Killington Road and make the 10 mile drive to Rutland. Well worth it.

For all the euphoric flavors you can't get enough of - especially the ones you can't get in ordinary stores - nobody scoops Ben & Jerry's better than we do at our scoop shops.
Health conscious, low-fat diets would see a red flag if Ben & Jerry's is mentioned. But, even for those of us who lean toward the fat-free, non-dairy types of food need a treat once in a while. So, if you have a hankering for ice cream, and there is a Ben & Jerry's nearby, this is what we choose, so we went slightly out of our way to enjoy a Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz with hot fudge sauce. Ice cream in general is high-fat and mega-dairy. There is evidence to show that casein (a dominant milk protein) leads to several cancers, so we try to avoid ice cream (see "The China Study" and "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease"). That being said, we treat ourselves to Ben & Jerry's for an occasional ice cream fix. This one on the road to Woodstock, VT, filled the bill.

I stop by the Speakeasy a couple times a month. The coffee is great, but food selection is sparse. Occasionally understaffed, so a wait may be ahead. The man at the counter is friendly and helpful, but the women are not. They are not rude, just indifferent. It's okay, but I far prefer The Coffee Exchange just a bit further down the road.

The Bakery is a cafe serving all day breakfast and lunch. Everything we serve is made fresh on premise. We offer grab and go pastries, smoothies, and coffee, as well as sit down sandwiches, salads, and soups. We are happy to accommodate special orders as well as catered lunches.
Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter today. Fresh ingredients, fresh baked bread, curry carrot soup, Turkey sandwich with cranberry jam, Caesar salad and whoopee cakes for desert. Friendly engaging staff that make you feel like a regular. Nice vibe for a cafe!

The locals of Rutland have enjoyed their "grinders" from Gills for generations. I know people that have moved away, been gone for over a year, and stop at Gills before going home!

I should have read the reviews! I kept driving by this store and saying, "eh", But finally I stopped in. The donuts are wonderful. They are yeasted, and not over sugared. And just good.
No ambiance inside although listening to the staff yell "we are running out of donuts" was entertaining.
Maple, and vanilla creme, both thumbs up.

Kathy had the wedge salad and the chicken rotisserie . It is a huge portion and was good.
The mashed potatoes were really good.
I had the prime rib egg rolls. they were good a little greasy but quite tasty.

It's what you expect when you go to a snack bar - fried food. It's like fair food. Not healthy, but no one's going here for "healthy" food. LOL. Whatever you end up ordering it's always tasty. I'm not a fan of their creamies. A little too runny. Not as "creamy" as other places creamies. But, in a pinch on a warm summer afternoon, it's not a bad place to stop for some burgers and fries or onion rings.

Southside Steak House is very good but not great in my opinion. My wife and I had dinner there on New Year’s Eve 2017. As you might expect, the restaurant was very busy and with our reservation, we were able to be seated at our...MoreQuincy thanks for taking the time to review us. I'm glad that we were able to accommodate you on a busy night. I'm also happy that your steaks were both excellent.

We had a very nice meal in this comfortable, dimly lit (in a good way) restaurant. Our appetizer was the Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms, they were tasty and fun to share. The Roast Salmon with Cajun Crab Stuffing and Corn Cream Sauce was my choice and it was pretty amazing, perfectly seasoned with great tastes of crab. My wife had the Shrimp Saute with Handmade Stuffed Pasta Purses Scampi Style...holy cow. The pasta was perfectly al dente and wonderful taste and texture. The shrimp were meaty and perfectly done. I'm really glad we share tastes of our meals because I had two shrimp in exchange for a nice piece of salmon.
The espresso machine was down so a good cup of black coffee ended the meal. No room for desert due to generous portions. The waitress was great, she was there when we needed her and got us out the door in time for the show at The Paramount. BTW, Roseann Cash was amazing, We had a great meal/time in Little Harry's and will definitely return.
