The Great House pub and restaurant, between the Kent villages of Cranbrook and Hawkshurst, is set in some of the most celebrated countryside in all of Europe. Within its own superbly kept grounds, this 16th century inn more than lives up to its location w
Saw the pictures, and read the reviews, but the reality fell far short. The bar area was grubby with food smears on the floor so not an enticing entry. The burger was ok but my chicken kebab with vegetables turned out to be four or five large chunks of meat with unappetising charred slices of capsicum and onion in between. It looked as if no chef had any input into this meal. The accompanying flatbread was dry and stale. This is pub grub.Good morning Katie,I am sorry to hear about your visit. Please could you email me to discuss further. Regards, Sian

I Have lived near Tunbridge Weĺls for 10 years and never been here for anything more than cocktails (which have always been amazing!) Today my partner and I came here for a meal before jazz at the Pantiles. Well, I have no words for how amazing the food was. I am THE biggest lover of crackling you will ever come across and I will hands down say this is the best crackling I have ever eaten! (On the belly of porc) the table next to us had the same and we were eyeing his for the taking too!! Best meal out we have had in a long time- and we eat out alot! Wonderful staff, incedible food, great ambience and even better company (I love you Dave Stamp ;-) xx

My Daughter and I came here with a "Groupon Voucher" - Good value and nice food, staff were polite and attentive. Will come again, without the voucher, so their promotion worked for new customers.

The Warren Restaurant is an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex cattle, Boer goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar among others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British
I booked my motherâs 76th birthday at The Warren and we all travelled down separately from London and Sevenoaks to meet for lunch there. When we arrived, the restaurant was shut and there was a note saying that due to technical difficulties, the restaurant was closed. I received no email nor telephone call which would have prevented this wasted journey. I have since called 3 times and have not revived a call back. I think this is unprecedented in my experience.I wouldnât go here. There is clearly something peculiar at large here. Avoid at all costs.

Please note that this year we are open on: â Christmas Eve â Christmas Day â Boxing Day â New Year's Eve â New Yearâs Day
Another example of falling for vastly overrating reviews, also on tripadvisor.Because of these reviews we had great expectations when dropping impromptu into this tiny place with tiny tables and bad air. This place is run by a husband and wife team. The husband, a heavy smoker, prepares formulaic pasta dishes, most of the swimming in a cherry tomato and garlic sauce. Our Spaghetti Carbonara were drowned in too much oil. The fish of the day clearly came from the freezer of was as tough as cardboard. What a waste of an evening! Learning from experience helps others. The bill was way to high for what we got. Be forewarned!

Tunbridge Wells has a number of restaurants, but we have often found it difficult to consistently get decent food at a reasonable price. Each time we've been to Don G, we've left with a feeling of satisfaction. The last time we visited, it was quiet, (thus echoing some of the other reviews here), but service, food and wine were all good. There were 4 of us, and all enjoyed our choices, which were selected across the menu range.

We had a wonderful meal whilst reminiscing about our memories of living in this house 52 years ago (previously a greengrocer's) and seeing how it has been transformed into delightful restaurant. A special 60th birthday treat that was emotional and accompanied by delicious food and our hosts care and interest in recollections. Would love to bring back the whole family. Thanks to all of you at Apicius.

A full English for me and a panini for the hubby (it was brunch time!). My substantial brekkie all came piping hot with toast and was delicious. Hubby said his panini was lovely. Would definitely recommend and go again if in Tunbridge Wells.

Relaxed, contemporary dining in the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Perfect for lunch, right by the shopping centre or take a quiet table for business lunches. We also have seating around the bar for drinks and a separate bar bites menu. Open from 12 Tue
We had an enjoyable Sunday lunch. I had the belly of pork and my wife had the chicken. Both were individually cooked, nicely presented and were delicious.as were the deserts. The staff and chef were helpful and were flexible in accommodating our needs. We will certainly return.

We believe that your dining experience with us starts the moment you walk through our door. A friendly greeting from our front of house team, lead by co-owner Andy Urbanek and Manager Simon Moore. The Poet offers a vast selection of craft gins, handpicked
Went to the Poet for our anniversary lunch with our son and daughter-in-law. We couldn't have wished for a better venue. The staff were polite professional and the white glove service was first class. The menu extensive and the lunch most palatable. Could not been better. We also given a brief history of the poet, Siegfried Sassoon, by the manager. For that special lunch this is the place.
