I have been several times -- all for lunch and haven't been disappointed yet. Sandwiches are all excellent, as our pimento cheese hushpuppies -- yum. They serve wine and beer. The main serving area in this restored historic building is SUPER loud when the place is full. Our waitress acknowledge they get this complaint allot. We suggested some simple fixes like cloth baffles. She said he would pass the suggestions along, but she looked doubtful that anything would come of it.

A great place to meet, have coffee, and use the free-wifi..A regular mid-morning stop of mine for working on the laptop.

Place is packed on friday and saturday nights. be prepared to wait.
Most other times, seating is immediate and service is very swift and prompt.
Food quality is always fresh and excellent.
these guys take a lot of pride in their food.
Nothing on the menu is over $12-13..and thats a feast for that!
IT IS NOT A PLACE TO HAVE A LARGE PARTY IN. Keep in mind, no one else takes this into consideration either. You WILL end up dining with other peoples conversations, yelling, and obnoxiousness. not the restaurants fault. its the Clientele.
The decor has seen much better days and times. Tijuana look inside, with Tijuana Cleanliness. Needs repainting, and a good solid floor scrubbing. But again, The Clientele is to blame for this. they destroy everything nice in this area.

Miss Marie and the folks at the Old Country Club Steakhouse off Chub Lake Road really provide a lip-smacking dinner. We finished the Sunday Timberlake Family Reunion with a so-so meal at another area restaurant and some of us fondly remembered the old country club. The restaurant is old, but the food more than makes up for any lack of décor! We started with a great salad bar that featured really ripe tomatoes and tons of other goodies.
Our fish and steaks were superb and I enjoyed every morsel. It was a Sunday night the place was really busy, which causes the waitresses to run hard which detracts somewhat, but overall, this is one of my favorite places to eat along the Virginia border.
Oh, be sure to get a steak! It'll be great.

In need of a lunch meal one day, I gave Golden Grill a try. I have never visited another Roxboro restaurant for lunch ever since! GG offers a quiet East Asian meal, excellent food and great service. I defer to their Broccoli with Garlic Sauce as my preferred lunch "Go To" selection, supplemented by some Sushi or Sashimi. Their hot tea is no extra charge--which is courteously refilled, and I never leave hungry. It's a great place to hang out for awhile with a tasty meal on board, leaving the rat race behind for a bit. The subdued lighting and absence of outside windows creates the effect. So do the mild manners of the wait staff.
Families are often among the diners, as are many blue and white collar business people. Be advised Golden Grill is very popular so don't be surprised to find their parking lot full! I try to time my lunch accordingly.

Excellent food! I've never had anything mediocre or poor there. You can choose your condiments and additional toppings, like a salad bar, for your sandwiches or salad. I eat at American hero usually two or three times a month. Excellent value a good bang for your buck!

While the food and decor was very impressive for downtown Roxboro, this restaurant has room for improvement. It's wonderful that a chic new restaurant is part of the downtown renovation effort. Nice clean, modern decor for bar and restaurant with tasty food; yet here are my ideas for improvement & increase in class---
Have a hostess at the door waiting to great you not standing at the bar chitchatting.
Ask about seating preferences (not just stick you at a table especially if the restaurant is not busy at all.
Announce what items on the menu are not longer available. Two IOC my four choices were not stocked. :(
Even after paying, the waitstaff should still fill glasses while people linger in conversation.
The chef did come around and ask if everything was ok and at the simple yes he walked away. It seemed more as if he was completing a checklist to-do item of checking on customers instead of being sincerely concerned or interested.
Serving size is small & relatively expensive and food was a little salty for my personal taste.
Because I am glad to have a healthy, nice restaurant promoting farm-to-table dishes, I do plan to return later with hopes of increased classiness of service.
Question for the restaurant-- How much of the produce or supplies come from Person County? It would be interesting for you to state on your menu where your ingredients are grown/supplied.
Good luck!!

I had been told that the pizzas here were exceptional and so I was looking forward to giving them a try. I found mine to be acceptable, but not exceptional - same for the colleague having lunch with me. We ordered by the slice (this was lunch time) and mine seemed warmed over, not fresh out of the oven. And indeed, they came so quickly they could not have been made to order. There were not many people in the restaurant, and it was the height of the lunch period, so they were not overly busy. As far as the salad bar goes - it is typical pizza restaurant salad bar offerings. Service was fast and acceptable. For lunch - slightly on the pricey side.

Friend and I had lunch here. Wait staff is very friendly, Ambiance is really nice, look at the murals in every booth. I had Taco salad, it was bit pricey for Roxboro and not enough lettuce. Food is tasty and staff is friendly. I will go there again!

In Roxboro for a family reunion, several of us went out before the reunion to capture some good eats and returned to Clarksville Station. This restaurant boats a great salad bar and along with a nice sirloin that could have been a filet, I ordered the Seafood Bisque. That is a "to die for" soup, chocked full of shrimp, fish, scallops and more...super delicious.
Once in a while, while dining, as we were in an old train car, you get the absolute best server. Her name is Melissa and she must brighten every room she enters. Melissa is attentive, always thinking and totally engaged in serving her customers. She makes Clarksville Station even more impressive than it is.
