good location and good rooms. But I will advice you rethink the breakfast buffet. It was no value for money. Waited 30 minutes for them to bring out scramble egg and bake brand. Poor exoeriences. I wasted time and I was not the only one. It's was not a buffet, seems they were stingy with food.

We had room 201 which was a twin room it was spacious and very clean with a large shower. The only thing that’s wasn’t the best were the pillows which we thin and lumpy. I would prefer to pay a bit more for breakfast and get better quality sausages and bacon. The staff were friendly and hard working. Brilliant value for money and I would definitely recommend staying in a Wetherspoons hotel.

We stayed here for one night and we so happy with our stay! The owners were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The room (and the house) was beautiful and clean the views are to die for as was the cooked breakfast. There were also continental choices in a fry up isnt for you. It’s 5 minutes drive from the town which is a beautiful old street packed with cafes and shops. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will be coming back!

Stayed for one night for a wedding at the Vines. Very dull inside & has a very low standard of decorating, I hope they didn't pay too much for the decorators because they did a piss poor job! Who doesn't tile behind a radiator or sticks odd bits of wood around door frames & Mr Mastic was a god send to hide numerous other bodge ups - especially around the bath. Toilet seat broken, stains on many of the walls & a disgusting smells of stale cigarettes in the bedroom all the time & this was a 'deluxe double room'! £10 a night extra to park your car which they don't tell you beforehand. No proper breakfast - just cereals & croissants in your room.

This is an old coaching inn, and the building has a lot of period charm. Floors are uneven, as you would expect in a building that age. There is no lift. Unfortunately the place is shabby. Carpeting is worn and stained; decorations are tired; furniture has seen better days. There are rotted window sills and rot in some windows and frames, which suggests that basic maintenance has been lacking. In my room the main window would not stay open as a sash-cord was broken (the room needed an airing). The ceiling light had three branches, each with a different type of light bulb, only two of which were working, and one of the branches was loose. The fitted sheet did not fit and exposed the mattress, but the bed was comfortable enough and I slept well. Rochester High Street is lively on a Saturday night, with bouncers outside every pub, and there is a nightclub somewhere nearby. My room was at the back of the building, and I could hear the throb of music, but even with a window open the noise was quite faint and did not keep me awake. The room had a TV and tea/coffee-making facilities but no refrigerator. The kettle was pristine - either new or very recently descaled. They don't do breakfast (perhaps they have the facilities but cannot get the staff at present). It is a cheap place for an overnight stay, but very sad that a fine old building should be in such a state.

We stayed here for a wedding near by at Cooling Castle. Firstly, it is ideally placed for attending a wedding here, the location is great. As for the B&B itself, I have never stayed at a more helpful place - they even went out to buy a non-slip shower mat for the shower as I had a bad knee and was a bit unsteady on my feet. The host went above and beyond for us, asking our preferences for the ample continental breakfast and giving us advice on places to go nearby.

The Kings Head Bar and Hotel is under new ownership. This charming hotel has a feature Dickensian hallway and stair well in keeping with the rich history of the local area. The rooms are good value for money for a hotel located right in the heart of historic Rochester. It is located above the vibrant Kings Head Bar which is open Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun.
This would be a nice place if the bar staff had any class about them. They are all too busy partying to actually serve and the big gobby Irish lass was giving out drugs in there. Police need to raid it in my opinion

Small house off the beaten track. Quiet place. Only two rooms to let - a double and a single. Excellent breakfast included in the price. Knowledgeable personable hostess. Large TV lounge. Pet friendly. Well worth the price and then some.
