This is a small, very good restaurant in La Pdrera. The food is very good - i had one of my best salmon carpachios ever - and I have had some! The restaurant has a location on the edge of the seafront with a fantastic view. It has only ca 12 tables - very
We had a very good meal and the service was very friendly. We were out of hours so we had the place to ourselves. it was too windy to sit outside so we had an inside table overlooking the ocean. They saved us some money explaining to us how to get to the ombues without paying the high tour fees. We also went to the Lakes which are great.

We went there as soon as we arrived to La Paloma, and It was great! The service was perfect, amazing waitress , the guy went above and beyond expectations. Food was the best I have had in La Paloma, the best "pasta with seafood"(pasta con frutos del mar) ever. We drank beer, which was cold , thankfully. For dessert we tried homemade lemon pie and chocolate mousse, by far the best lemon pie I have tried. It was the perfect start for our vacation.

The best restaurant in La Paloma. "Mejillones Hawaii" highly recomended. Easy to park around. Family business. Sea food. International food. Glass of wine welcome always.

We went there hoping it would be a nice place to have some drinks and eat something while watching the sunset. So, we ordered beer and caipirinha, both great. Some crab and fries, both tasty, yet expensive. Sunset; check. Fresh air:check. The issue was that the service is by far the worst in La Paloma. The waitress tought he was doing us a favour or something. It was painfully slow, unattentive, plain rude when dropping things off compared to other places. They just left me waiting for my order for 20 minutes after dropping my boyfriend's order, and did not clarify what was going on. It was like being back in montevideo, basically. The plan was to stick around for a couple hours, but thankfully ,after an hour we decided to leave Punto Sur and finish our evening in a small place with the nicest waitress ever.

The best beach restorant, author kitchen, house speciality are pasta, fish and seafood.Resturante cocina de autor , especialidad en pastas pescados y marisocos, lo mejor de la costa
Awesome place. I had a pear daiquiri, then an apple daiquiri, and a great seafood salad. The shrimp good the biggest I have seen, everything looked fresh. The waitress was very nice and made our experience even better. A nice place to hang for a couple of hours , drink a cold daiquiri or beer, and try awesome desserts

Proa has a great, well deserved, reputation. The chef Gustavo is a commercial fisherman turned restaurant owner/chef. I don't know how he was as a fisherman but he is a great chef! The staff is wonderful and outside dining is right on the beach. What a view! Another of my favorite restaurants.

Simply writing this review puts a smile on my face. We visited on four occasions for lunch and dinner over a five day stay. Each meal only increased our desire to return and select more dishes from the predominantly seafood menu. The simple tortilla was exquisite as well as the pork and steak options. Restaurante Lajau is a highlight of our time spent in Uruguay.

We came to the restaurant for a light meal, although they have other more elaborated dishes, We ate some "empanadas" with meat and with cheese and onion, made with puff pastry that taste very good, and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, a common snack in Uruguay and Argentina, which was well done, not too dry or too oily. The prices were very affordable and the service was fine. Certainly a good place to have a meal.

The lovely La Folie is a true neighborhood local restaurant using local ingredients available that week to wow their customers. We have been here twice during our stay in La Paloma during the months of February and March. The food is creative & very yummy. My favorite was the brotola served with a type of scalloped potato dish followed by a delectable cheesecake style dessert that was scrumptious! The menu seems to change with what ingredients are locally available. If you want to ensure yourself a seat, be sure to arrive early (8-9pm) before the locals arrive & force a long wait.
