Established in 2013. The Hub of WNC was created as a supplement business to Sportbikes4hire which is a 4 year old motorcycle rental company that covers a territory between Asheville, NC and Knoxville, TN. Robbinsville, NC is a major cross roads, or "Hub" if you will, of several very popular and world famous mountain roads frequented by car and motorcycle enthusiasts. We thought a 1950s service station themed coffee and sandwich shop would be the perfect atmosphere for the road weary Dragon slayer or the adventurous couple on their H-D that just crossed up on over 5000 feet on the Cherohala Skyway or Blue Ridge Parkway. With plenty of covered bike parking and a large outdoor covered eating area over looking the river, its a perfect spot to kick of your ride with fresh locally roasted coffee or to take a break from the road for some BBQ or a hot pressed sandwich. Come get your grub at The Hub!
After at least 20 visits over the last year , I can say with absolute certainty that The Hub has earned a excited customer! The items I've eaten to date were excellent , and the service is always great. I read another review that stated the owner was seeking to open a chain , my advice to him would be no more than 3 , as from my experience , when a good place begins to increase in numbers , the quality of the food somehow suffers , it loses its uniqueness. Hopefully , if The Hub becomes Hubs , there will be a way to make copies of the present staff to keep the experience and food unique.

This very basic place, clean enough and the food was ok, the waitress/cook/cashier was very nice and friendly. very small inside but did have a few picnic tables outside.
The laundry mat is too close, its just through a screen door. The smell of laundry soap and dryer sheets overpowers the food you're eating. You know you've stumbled in a questionable place when the signs on the restroom doors have to limit the amount of cleaning you can do while there ("no washing hair or bathing in the sink, The Management") no kidding.
They serve ice cream as well as breakfast all day, both wins in my book.

Perched on the banks of the world famous Cheoah River, Tapoco Tavern combines the very best of classic pizzeria and all American flavors with a riverside view and environment unmatched in all of Western Carolina. Order up a brick oven pizza for the family or indulge in the house favorite, "The Dam Drink" from our full-service bar. From steaks, burgers, salads, hummus, and local Carolina Mountain trout, there's something for everyone.
We stayed in Overlook 1, a duplex cabin. It is a quaint mountain getaway. The staff is friendly; the accommodations are super neat and clean. We happened upon this resort while traveling through the Smoky Mountains and were super pleased. My wife was in heaven....MoreTerry, thank you so much for your kind review. We're so glad you happened upon us while exploring the area. We wish you safe travels and hope to see you back again soon!

We stopped at this mountain top eatery while on a motorcycle trip in the Smokies... The sandwiches and salads were wonderful and served in great portions.. I had a mixed meat and cheese which was huge! The country store atmosphere is enhanced by the delightful and friendly family who made our meals and rapidly served us, then came out to visit us and take pictures. In addition to the porch, where blue grass was playing, there was a nearby covered area with picnic tables. None of us wanted to leave! It was so relaxing, and Brooks the resident canine made sure we were each welcomed as we got off our bikes and were waiting to be served. Would definitely recommend and will stop again when we next ride in this NC area.

Chips were stale. Sauce ok. Waitress distracted. Ordered chicken fajitas. Got 2 tortillas, one being soggy, so I asked for another, and was charged for it. No plate, so I fixed fajitas on the tin foil. Charged a dollar more than price in menu. Won't be back.

A group of us out for a day of motorcycle riding stopped for a late lunch. The dining room was empty but the waitress welcomed us warmly. She was friendly and outgoing. She seated us and got started on drinks and orders for 13 people.
The service was quick and accurate. Everyone was complimentary about their meals. I can personally say the catfish sandwich was very good.
The pricing was very affordable.
If you are in the area, stop by. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Stopped in for breakfast. Had 2 eggs, bacon, home fries and grits. Nothing exceptional. Home fries were cubed potatoes done in a deep frier. Bread choices were white or wheat, I. E. Brown. No rye bread available. Toast served buttered with whipped edible oil product in a packaged container. Coffee sort of mild, not much flavor.

Fast service, helpful staff and great assortment of pizza, salad, desserts, spaghetti and bread. Varied assortment of sandwiches and wings. Pepsi drink assortment, sorry, no beer, dry county.
