Kampai Sushi Bar celebrates 5 years of serving good Japanese Food in Antipolo. It's the place for the adventure seekers who would like to find the best and most affordable local sushi, gyoza, donburi, bento, ramen and salads. And yes our kamikaze wings ha
Tried this place a few times. Nice take on the antipolo maki and kampai special maki. However, they miserably failed on the ramen which looked and tasted like a mami. Also, it's a hit or miss with their sashimi. Not a fresh catch maybe? Food 2/5 Environment 3/5 Service 3/5
We were first hesitant to try Yuki thinking it was one of those highly commercialized establishments serving Japanese food. However, knowing that the restaurant has their own Japanese chef, we were relieved. We come here for their very affordable onigiri every week (highly recommended). Apart from that, they always serve complimentary miso soup and coffee jelly for dessert. This is one of those places you'll never tire of coming back to regularly.
So there was this small jap restaurant in this odd place. We decided to check it out. The place was small. Only 5 tables can fit inside. The place was almost a zen inspired place. Typical for most jap restaurant. We looked at the menu. Ramen ranges P220. Rice meals around P150. Ramen taste great! Rice meals great too! I would highly recommend this. Try it out guys!
When I took my friends and family to Tamagoya, they inevitably ask the question..."How did you discover this place?". That's because the location is far away from the usual malls, restaurant rows etc. It's this little hole in the wall place beside a car repair shop in far-away Masinag in Antipolo. Fortunately for us, it's about 20 min. from our house! But it's worth the trip and it can be packed during lunch and dinner so come early so you can score a table. The ramens are excellent and the generous serving are very affordably priced (less than Php 200 per bowl). We tried most of it and you should all order different ramens so you can sample each one. My husband loves the spicy one whose name I have forgotten. My favorite is the gyoza - one of the best I've tried in the city. Hmmm...now that I'm writing this review...I'm craving for a hot bowl of ramen w/ gyoza on the side...I think I will be going there tomorrow! See you!

The restaurant is a must-try for those looking for authentic Japanese food in the east (Marikina-Antipolo-Cainta area). It used to be the only dependable and best quality Japanese resto there and I think it still stands its ground despite the new ones around including those in the malls. They have a very good selection of items on their menu and the interiors reminds us of the small restaurants we ate at while living in Tokyo and Yokohama.
