There has always been a small restaurant at the “Corner” in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they opened a little 40-seat cafe that served breakfast and lunch. The CORNER CAFE was born. Expansions and new buildings have been built, but we continue the traditions that started back in 1983. We strive to provide the best products, the best service, and the best value in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of the family.
My Uncle took my wife and I to this restaurant while visiting the other day. We said we'd like some good down home cooking that was reasonably priced. Man, did he hit the nail on the head!
Corner Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and they have a ton of desserts and offer a children's menu. Very family friendly! This really is home cookin' at it's best! The portions are gigantic and the prices are really reasonable. The home made cinnamon rolls are bigger than softballs! I had the Pot roast sandwich with gravy and fries along with a cup of split pea and ham soup. I should have gotten the half-sandwich because I couldn't eat it all. My wife had pancakes, eggs and bacon, and, my uncle had the pork chop with eggs and hash browned potatoes. They couldn't finish theirs either! But man was it good. I'm just sorry we didn't have room for the gorgeous looking desserts!
This is a great family restaurant and has plenty of room for large parties. The restrooms were spotless. The restaurant is handicap accessible. They do not serve alcoholic beverages. They have "Daily Specials" every day as well as a "Vegetable of the Day."
We'll definitely be back to this Corner Cafe!

Visited FIrst Watch today and just had to have the Traditional Breakfast for lunch. I really like the scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, and artisan toast. ITs really tasty. We also had the Veggie burger. Service is great even when they’re busy. Use the No Wait app to reserve your place in line.

Cafe Des Amis makes you feel like you're in a European lodge with a romantic atmosphere plus intriguing views of Park University. The food is superbly prepared; the wine list uncommon and delicious, especially Alsatian options in the dry riesling category. From trout to beef and lamb one can't go wrong. Treat yourself and a dear one to a special night.

Met with friends. Very casual, order at a window, good variety, including local brews. I had the smoked chicken adding ‘Kansalino’ sauce from table that was good. Cheesy corn good choice for side. A friend had brisket and burnt ends and she said it was good. We didn’t have any but it was mentioned their smoke Turkey is good too.

We don’t live near Chappells, but we enjoy the food, service, and the sports decor when we can get there. Today my wife liked the Steak soup and half sandwich and my fish and chip were quite good as well. Now the but.....Chappell’s always runs Groupons deals. That is what causes us to drive 20 miles to have a good lunch. But their guest internet doesn’t ever work so you get to stand outside in the cold so your coupon will come up. Please fix the internet for the customers that buy your Groupons. Our bill after Groupon was $5.22. I gave the server a $10 and she brought me $4.00. I guess she thought the $.78 was hers for the keeping. I hate it when servers are dishonest. It was not a mistake it’s petty theft. Servers do this too often thinking older people won’t notice. I did leave a tip but deducted the $.78.

Slap's BBQ (Squeal Like a Pig) opened in June of 2014 and started with just a few hundred pounds of meat. After running out within a few hours, we knew Slap's was going to be a major success. As the weeks went on, we added more and more meat to the daily production finally reaching our capacity and comfort level a couple months after opening. We sell out every day because we are committed cooking fresh and putting the best BBQ on the plate we can. Slap's BBQ is one of very few restaurants in the City that is actively competing on the KCBS circuit throughout the year. On average we compete in 25-35 contests each season. We do this to stay sharp, relevant, and because we love it. Try our famous ribs and burnt ends that always run out within our first hour, or our imported Texas sausage to get a mouthful of amazing flavor. Although we try to serve as many customers as possible, we're only open until we run out daily so be sure to get here early! For finger lickin' goodness, we'll see you at Slap's!
The burnt ends melted in my mouth. They have a culinary concoction called Baked Potato Casserole that is not to be missed. I want to go back right now just to have that again. The feel of the restaurant was urban rustic. We sat at a community table with a couple and their baby. I wanted to love the cheesy corn and I will likely try it again but I do not know if it can survive in the shadow of that baked potato casserole.

Nice variety of beers, including craft beers. They also have mixed drinks and wine. Small menu of food items, nothing great. Lots of televisions all tuned to sports. Very noisy.....not conducive to visiting. I had the Brisket Nachos....the meat was pretty tough. Hubby had a Chicken Sandwich which he said was OK.

JOURNEY Lounge in the warm ambiance of The Journey's adobe dining room, inspired by the striking architecture of the West African coast. This exclusive menu features appetizers, fish, lobster, pasta and more! All certified Angus Beef(R) steaks are grilled to perfection over mesquite wood fires. Top off your meal by choosing from an extensive wine list from around the world and enjoy our freshly made desserts!
My wife and I decided to try Journey again. We had tried it several years ago and were disappointed, but this time it was greatly improved. I had a regular salad with Honey Mustard dressing and my wife had the Spinach salad with Hot Bacon dressing. We combined both on our salads and it was pretty good. There were hat rolls and we had the filet. My wife said hers was a little salty, but mine was very good. Both done medium. The waitress was very attentive and my water glass was never empty. We did't try any dessert, but they looked good.

We read reviews before trying this location. Some of them indicated that this location was kind of “a shack”. The building is not much to look at but the inside was clean and friendly staff. We all had the double burger combo meal. The patties are fairly thin. They reminded me of a Steak and Shake burger. They were very good burgers. I don’t have the receipt with me, but for three double burger meals (fries and a drink) was close to $40.
