We really enjoyed our 2 nights at Swinton. The room, spa and gym were excellent. We had a delicious breakfast at Samuel's and the Terrace. Dinner in the Terrace was really tasty too. Service was friendly and professional. It was the second time we'd been to Swinton and we'd love to return.

An accommodation jewel, this 18th-century 5* Gold Award luxury guest house stands proud in the grounds of North Stainley Hall just North of Ripon in North Yorkshire. This delightful property is located between the Yorkshire dales and North Yorkshire Moors National Park and is in a great position to explore these areas of outstanding natural beauty. Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Old Coach House B&B over the Jubilee weekend with two of my girl friends. Amy was a an amazing host, so lovely and friendly. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Our rooms were a bit small but this was our own fault - we should’ve checked so definitely call the B&B directly and Amy is more than happy to help. The rooms were nevertheless very comfortable and well equipped! The bed was very comfy too. The B&B is full of character and the courtyard outside is just gorgeous. There are several seating areas for sunnier days. The nearby area is lovely with a pub just across the road serving lovely food. The Dales are a short drive away and expect the most breath taking scenery. It was the perfect place to stay for our girls trip and we can’t wait to go back.

The historic Unicorn Hotel has been at the heart of hospitality in Ripon, one of Britain's smallest cities, since medieval times. This former coaching inn has 32 en-suite rooms, a bar and dining facilities. Close to Fountains Abbey, a world heritage site, and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, Ripon is one of the North's best kept secrets.
The room I stayed in was room 101 a small double. Bedroom windows in for repair and the whole room felt a bit grubby. Bed was awful as sheets did not fit. Bathroom was good. Problem was light in bedroom. It’s a standard emergency exit light that you might have in the bar and therefore was too bright and kept me awake all night. Ridiculous. This needs addressing and somebody is completely incompetent to fit this in a bedroom. Tried to sleep but couldn’t. £80 for a very disappointing stay. Have been very happy with all the Wetherspoons hotels.

My partner and I stayed for one night while visiting friends who live in Ripon. The Inn itself was really nice with a wood burner in the bar. The bar sells a selection of real ales. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean with tea, coffee and water. The weather was horrendous with snow, gale force winds and rain but the room was warm and reasonably quiet despite the weather. The Inn offers a selection of breakfast options. We both had the cooked breakfast, which I would recommend. We would definitely stay again.

Rick & the team converted the 1700’s building in 2020 to offer 5 cosy luxury rooms as well as a revamp in the restaurant. All the rooms are en-suite and parking is available with 2 electrical charging points. The ethos of Valentino’s has always been a relaxed family friendly enjoyable experience. We hope to continue these values through the accommodation also.
My fiancé gifted me a stay at Valentino’s as a birthday treat and we had a superb time. The rooms are beautifully presented and have really thoughtful touches. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. We had such a good sleep after our amazing meal. The staff were superb and really made us feel at home. To top it off the Italian breakfast was a real treat - so authentic. 100% recommend to anyone staying in Ripon.

Nice and easy check in. Comfortable room. Good night sleep. Lovely breakfast. Great staff. Thank you for a pleasant stay. Only little grumble I had was the car park at the back was full when we arrived and had to park on the road. Didn’t mind though. Still close by.

The Royal Oak is the ideal base for sight seeing, whether in Ripon, the surrounding area, a trip to the races or a local wedding. Ideally located 15 mins drive from the A1 motorway, and proud to hold a 4 diamond AA rating, it is an ideal choice as a perfect stop over for those long car journeys. We have a choice of twin or double rooms, all with en-suite bath or shower. All our bedrooms have been upgraded and are modern and well finished, all have a modern flat screen television with freeview and complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits.
I reached Ripon just for a night visiting a friend and booked the Royal Oak for my overnight stay. It was a memorable experience. Received a very warm welcome on arrival. It was my first ever experience of checking in at at bar. You enter this hotel through its bar / restaurant. I knew the hotel has no elevator and was trying to figure our carrying my 20+kg bag 2 floors up. A young gentlemen from the restaurant volunteered and carried by bag up with a happy smile. Received same favor when checking out, this time from a gentlemen from the kitchen. It was very visible the whole team was assisting guests from their hearts. Room was spacious, well prepared, clean and comfortable. Good selection of tea / coffee was available at the room. Sleep quality was very good. Bathroom is of the right size. Hot water was available, a must have comfort in a cooler day. I had a short lunch and breakfast during my stay. Food was delicious, very well prepared and presented. I plan to return to Ripon as the time spent was not at all sufficient and The Royal Oak will surely be my choice of accommodation.

Rambling 16th-century listed farmhouse in glorious countryside close to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal World Heritage Site. Welcoming, relaxed, spacious and exceptionally comfortable. Four en suite double/twin guest rooms, two on the ground floor. Walk, tour or cycle in the stunning scenery of the Dales/Moors and be revived; visit historic houses, beautiful gardens, stop for tea and indulge in a Yorkshire Fat Rascal at Betty's and watch the world go by.
We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Mallard Grange. Maggie and her staff looked after us and made feel very welcome. We would recommend this stay to anyone visiting the Yorkshire area. Thanks for a great stay

The George Country Inn located 5 minutes from Junction 50 on the A1(M) is in the conservation village of Wath, just outside the city of Ripon. Situated in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire, we are ideally placed to enjoy the abundance of local activities on offer. From mighty moorland to rolling dales, Yorkshire is the great outdoors at its very finest.
Such a beautiful place, very quiet but so so pretty, we only stayed for one night but the decor was fantastic, you can see that extra care has been taken and research into making your stay as comfy and as luxurious as possible, our room was perfect, it had Yorkshire Tea bags and coffee bags, with canderal and sugar, biscuits and water all available for you to use, the quality of the products really impressed me, no cheap rubbish, good quality Yorkshire tea, there was a hair dryer, and the shower ? wow!! It was one of those rain fall ones and I used it this morning and it was lush, so nice and relaxing, those extra touches made this beautiful country pub amazing and well worth the money, were used to staying down south in Premier Inns so this felt like a real treat, spotlessly clean and smelling all fresh and new, the 2 guys that ran it were friendly and helpful and just left you to enjoy your stay, we had a drink at the bar later only a couple as it shut at 9pm but they didn't rush us and we took drinks back to the room, we didn't have any food but I'm sure it would have been delicious, you can see that these guys work really hard to keep this hotel spotless and friendly, it shows, would absolutely recommend this place and when we're up this way again it's a no brianer, were staying here.
