Landed in Milan from U.S., with literally no plans to go anywhere except to the coast of Italy. While on my laptop in the airport, searching accommodations near Cinque Terre, I saw the pics of the view of the sea from the hotel. Took a chance and figured for $155/night, and good reviews, what the heck! Book this hotel! The room was basic, no fridge, just a bed, end tables, desk, armoire, and bathroom. The views from the windows and from our spacious balcony were magnificent. Peaceful setting surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, wildflowers, and a multitude of songbirds. A top down view of the closet town, Manarola. A few steps from the hotel and we were walking the mountainside vineyard trails to Corniglia. Every time we ate breakfast on the deck we marveled at the view and the serenity of the local. The breakfast (included) every morning was delicious. Fresh coffee, fresh pastries, fresh varied local fruits, cereals, yogurt, and freshly scrambled eggs delivered to our table. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and lovely to converse with. The restaurant next door, Locanda Tiabuscion, has a relationship with the hotel and is the "got-to" place to eat superb food. We will be back in the off-season. A view to die for, basic, no frills hotel accommodations, but definitely the place to stay while in Cinque Terre if you desire a base of operations with the best view in town.

Accomodations situated in one of the most ancient houses of Riomaggiore, in the Marina, one of the most suggestive spots of this colourful fisherman village.Directly overlooking the sea, bright, modern and cosy, these studios can confortably accomodate 2 oe 3 persons each. They are equipped with tv, private bathroom with shower and independent entrance. The apartment "La Terrazza" has also two terraces directly overlooking the sea and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartments have been recently renovated with eco-materials and restoring beautiful wood ceiling beams, while the staircase to access is in wood in seafaring style. From the windows you can enjoy a wonderful view of the little harbour and of the sea. The small beach of stones, or the rocks where you can go swimming, are a few metres away from the house and also the centre of the village, where most of the restaurants and shops are, is very close to the house and you can reach it just climbing some steps. The train station is about 200 metres from the house and even closer if you walk through the “carugi”, narrow lanes made of stairs and houses maze. The car parking is out of the centre , at about 500 metres from the Marina, uphill. The centre of the village is, of course, closed to traffic but you can access it with your own car at specific times (from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10am and from 1 pm to 3 pm) to allow luggage loading and unloading .
This property is in a great location and has incredible views! Paolo was a great host and helped us find our apartment. We highly recommend staying here especially during the week when it’s quieter. We had the La Terrazza apartment and absolutely loved it.

Hotel Villa Argentina dominates the antique village of Riomaggiore .The small e quaint hotel has most its room heated with view of the sea and small sunny terrace ,all of which included private satellite TV, safe and ceiling fans. The hotel is in perfect position to begin some beautiful walks(via dell’amore) and hikes unite the towns in the midst of mother nature’s untainted scenery.
Receptionist who wears glasses too arrogant. after 6 hours of travel she treated me very badly because I said I didn't have a sign indicating the hotel. the sign hidden behind an overgrown wall. reception closes 8 PM. the rooms you can hear people screaming and bed walking. remembering that the reception is closed at 8PM. who to complain to? poor coffee, cake and iced fruit, bread of just one kind. hot orange juice car space 25 euros, car on the street with no private area and no sign saying it belongs to the hotel. we arrived one day and the place was occupied. who to complain ???? reception closes at 8 PM place so depressing that I didn't even take a picture

Incredible stay, the best views I’ve ever seen anywhere, situated basically on a cliff you can see all of rio maggiores sea. Waking up to see the mountains and beautiful sea was amazing. Amazing customer service, everyone was incredibly nice and understanding. There was also a small farm and a trail to go to a natural pool near the sea. Restaurant was amazing, unforgettable pesto. A great stay, would come here again any day

There are a few apartments inside an apartment building 1 minute walk from the train station, and my apartment had a queen size bed with a bathroom, patio, and fridge. The way it was listed on Expedia, I thought it was a hotel, but it is not. And as soon as I booked the room, I got a message that I needed to book it 24 hours in advance for the owners to arrange to meet me and let me in. Don't bother with that information. I was so worried when I booked it 1 hour before I was arriving, but when I arrived, the owner was waiting outside at 11pm looking for me. Just go left when you get off the train and go up the stairs. Do not go into the tunnel. The owner is so helpful and friendly, but he does not reside on the premises. He has a friend who resides there and manages the unit. Be sure to find out how to contact the manager before they leave you because I didn't have the wifi password and needed that immediately. I also had trouble with the key and getting back into the building. This apartment is very cute, clean, and small. It has everything you would need in a hotel room. Someone cleaned it while I was out for the day and left a bottle of red wine...thank you! The patio view wasn't very much; however everything was so beautiful. See pics. The bed was comfortable, the apartment was quiet, and the shower was refreshing even though it was small. It was very private. Several snacks, and coffee & tea were left in the room for my 2 night stay as well as milk, juice, and yogurt in the fridge. I was able to buy an all-day train ticket online and walk to the train station in a minute and visit the other four cities of Cince Terre very easily. When I was leaving the area, I ran into the owner in the train station and he helped me figure out what ticket to buy and kept someone from cutting the line in front of me. I felt like the owner really cared about me and I would definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

This was a lovely accommodation, in a great location, with a breathtaking view. Roberto was so helpful and obliging. He helped with heavy baggage, and also provided free snacks, drinks and complementary alcohol. He was always available when needed and always willing to give good advice on everything (from where to eat, to what to do in the area). The room itself was comfortable and cozy, beautifully decorated and sound proofed! I only wish our stay had lasted much longer.

We booked a room at Sofia Holiday on booking.com and the actual place looked like what was shown in the pictures. The place was clean and there were basic amenities including towels, soap, shampoo, 2 bottles of water. No toothbrush though. The balcony was a nice place to have a relaxing meal. After booking the host will contact you to give you more details on how to access the apartment and room. No problems with communicating the instructions. Location wise the place is right beside the train station so it's very convenient to travel although it's a walk away from the main town area. Didn't really get disturbed by the train noise at night

Locanda Dalla Compagnia provides a basic offering - the room I stayed in was of good quality and was in an accessible location in Riomaggiore. Breakfast is limited to coffee and packaged croissants (which I found quite tasty). I would have given 4 stars but the cost was quite steep for what I got (about 90 euros before tax), although I realise its a sellers market at high season!

We booked two nights in this place and when we were arriving to Riomaggiore after a 120 km trip in Scooter from Genova, they just had cancelled our stay because of a problem with our Credit card. They gave us two hours to upgrade the card data, which was not enough time, as we had no battery in the mobilephone. When we managed to contact them, they said that they had rented our room to somebody else and there was nothing to do and that they were just following the rules that booking.com imposed them. At that time, during the summerseason it was imposible to find another place to stay in Riomaggiore and surroundings. What should be a nice beginning of our holidays in Cinque Terre, turned out to be a nightmare!
