Find out what Eastern European restaurants to try in Riga. The Latvian capital, the largest city in the Baltics, is a fascinating mixture of proud Latvian tradition and influences of the various countries that have occupied it. Independent once again since 1991, Riga's Art Nouveau center has won it UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. Opened up to mass tourism with the advent of budget air travel, Riga's Old City and its abundance of bars and restaurants can be explored on foot. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food has great quality and I love that they create extra fun looks. The restaurant is styled nicely and the service is good. The prices are very reasonable and compared to the much more expensive restaurant in the touristy old town I am superhappy that I found this place.

We are glad to invite you to "FOREST" a cozy and welcoming restaurant in the center of Riga! Your visit is our joy to spoil your taste buds with Latvian contemporary and classic European cuisine, considering seasonal character of field and nature bounty.
Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Food is simply sublime & service impeccable. Salmon with lentils dish was perfectly cooked & complemented by a blissful sauce & roasted vegetables. Duck was outstanding, tender & similarly accompanied by a simply delicious sauce. And...our pre dinner tasters were heaven! Dining at this restaurant is such a joy.

While stayiing in the Radi un Draughi hotel this is where they serve your breakfast and it is fab. Good staff and a very clean environment to eat in. A wide selection of food for breakfast including amazing fresh juices, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, creps, hotdogs, mixed meats and cheeses, bread selection, cakes, cereals and yogurts, including a variety of salads. Inclusive auto Coffee machine a bit naff but did the trick for a hit of caffeine. You can buy a coffee over the counter too if you want. We ate here 5 mornings and each one was a good experience all round. Sitting outside on the terrace was an extra treat with the lovely views too.Dear Colin D,Thank you for your positive comments you shared on Tripadvisor about your breakfast at restaurant Niklavs, hotel Radi un draugi!Thank you for making positive notes and sharing it with other people as recommendation. When we arrived it was not even 9 pm (google and the front door says it closes at 11 pm) and they told us the kitchen was closed. Inmediately after that they said we can only ask for one drink. We left disappointed about the attention.Hello! We are sorry that you had a bad experience in our restaurant. This is a quiet season, because of that the restaurant working hours may differ. In winter season we recommend people to call and reserve a tabel for dinner, than you can be shour that we will be open and you will enjoy a pleasent evening. We are deeply sorry for the missunderstanding and we hope to see you some other time. Sincerely, BalzambÄrs

Excellent spot with a lot of atmosphere. Really cool location, good drinks selection, good food (although the desert was a meal in and of itself) and good service

The Neiburgs Restaurant, housed in a historical Art Nouveau building, is popular among visitors and locals who love a good dinner out. Its success is based on the combination of historical and stylish elements in the restaurantâs décor and delicious menu.
Had dinner here based on positive reviews. Must say that it was disappointing. We are inside which has bad acoustics. As there was a large group having dinner there as well we could hardly hear each other at our table due to the noise. Anyhow, more to the pure and more important fact that the kitchen was disappointing. All main courses we had were way to salty and therefore not ok. As this was the case for all our three different main courses this was not an âincidentâ. Took also one hour after our starters for the main courses to arrive. Not recommended therefore, there are better places in Riga.

Authentic dishes from Baltics. Two nations are meeting under one roof asking you to explore what is traditional, unbeatable and real.
Upon entering Milda your ears will start listening to relaxing piano and saxophone music in the background. The ambience is very clean and kept rather modern. The waiters are friendly and professional - automatically offering you the menu in English when you greet them with a hello. The menu mostly offers traditional Latvian dishes as well as some Latvian beers. The prices are quite fair and the portion of my traditional potato dish was rather large and satisfying. We received an appetizer - bread with chicken liver pâté - for free. Milda is worth a visit if you're interested in local cuisine and a relaxing atmosphere while eating.

...but other than then, it was a pretty 'ok' experience. The food was great, despite the fact the two medium grilled beef fillet' ended up being one medium and one medium red (grill is their speciality) - and this after they were out of the Chateaubriand, which seemed to be a 'show piece' on the menu, more than something they actually have in stock (waitress looked surprised that anyone would order it)? But again, overall a good experience...
