Reviewed By whirlwindexplorerLarge, spacious apartment. Well furnished and cheerful. Great location - right in the heart of old town. Good kitchen facilities. Bathroom had heated flooring. Good breakfast spread. Negatives : Collecting the keys from St Peter's Boutique hotel was a bit problematic. They gave us wrong directions and asked us to turn Right from Kongu Street while it should have been Left. Caused us a lot of inconvenience. Apartment on the 4th Floor with no elevator. Lugging all the baggage to the 4th floor and getting it down again was a challenge. Also, each time we went out, climbing up and down 4 floors was a deterrent for not-so-young couples like us. Also, the staircase was dark and a bit scary with the sensor lights working only sporadically.

The century old project “ Birznieka Nami “ has met its awakening in year 2014. Both the facade and courtyard buildings have been fully renovated, while keeping the charm of the centuries. There is a completely new elevator built in both buildings. The grey facade wall of the adjacent house pictures a scenic countryside. A cobble stoned inner yard is suited for car parking. The accommodation site is located ca 7 minutes’ walk from the Central Railway station; ca 15 minutes stroll from the Old Town. Riga International airport lies ca 10, 5 km from the accommodation site. The classy comfort meets the hi - Tec technologies in our apartments. The interior has been created for your comfort. Each apartment has fast WIFI and TV with a wide range of channels and a choice of various languages. Each bedroom is equipped with an extra-large bed and satin bed linen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Each apartment has a fridge and a dish washer. Tea and coffee is available. Bathrooms have a shower or a bathtub, toiletries, a hair dryer, towels as well as a washing machine. Children are very welcome! We provide with a baby cot or an extra bed upon request. We accept pets unless they do not disturb the neighbors.

Reviewed By AgainOnTheRunFirst off, it bears repeating the Ilze--the day-to-day property manager--was absolutely fantastic. She was super responsive to any question we had, whether it was for some additional kitchen utensils or advice about services in Riga. Ilze alone is a great reason to stay here. We stayed in for about a month, and were quite happy. The apartment themselves appear recently updated and had a nice clean look to them and 3m ceilings. We didn't notice much noise from neighbours. I believe each apartment is a little different, but in our case the kitchen was OK, it had a nice gas range, but it didn't have a microwave and only a toaster oven was a bit awkward to use due to is position. Location is pretty good, only about an 10 minute walk to the central train station and a largish grocery story is about an 8 minute. We had a small child and were able to leave a stroller on the main floor (which other people did as well). There is an elevator, but you do have to go up 1 flight of stairs to get to it, and one flight of stairs after the elevator to get to you apartment. The nearest playground however, was at least about 12 minutes away. Head's-up... * If you intend to do a lot of cooking, check to find out what appliances you apartment has * If you have mobility constraints, remember that despite the elevator you will still have some stairs to deal with Suggestion to management: I never mentioned this, but it would be great if the door stop for the main door could be repositioned, it prevents the door from opening completely and made it harder to get in (particularly with a stroller.

Reviewed By islandhopper1094Stayed here for 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment no.22. It was in the best location right in the middle of the old town. Included in the stay was a buffet breakfast at the restaurant below, of which there was a great selection for any diet. The apartment itself was really beautiful, check in was easy and the owner was very helpful and explained check in on whatsapp. The beds were very comfy but the pillow was too thin, also seemed to be feather which I am allergic to so could not use any of the decorative pillows either.

Reviewed By Rudolf HStayed there 9 days together with my wife. After entering into the building you can feel and "smell" the history of it. It is older building with massive walls and stairs, no lift there and it is located in a quiet area. All the facilities are clean. The room was of normal size with fully equipped kitchen, small facility with shower and WC and with sleeping/living area. There is a carpet on the floor in the room, but the original wooden floor is creaky and makes different noises while walking on it. The furniture is of older age, it is functional, but should be replaced by the newer one. Also the materaces in the beds should be replaced - they are old with iron springs inside. The shower room is really small. There is a boiler for water heating, so no problems with water temperature or pressure. If something is missing, go directly to the reception, they´ll fullfil your needs. Just few steps away from building there is a big supermarket where you can buy everything you need for youe existence. Connection with a city center is provided by tram (the stop is about 400m far) and it tooks about 15 minutes to National opera station (closest to the old town center). If you want to take a taxi to/from the airport, the ride takes cca 20 minutes and costs about 20€. If you don´t want to spend too much money for your stay and don´t need to be located in the city center, it is a good location for you.

Reviewed By LatvianFloosie1.There is no light on the stairs going up to the apartment - the only light is on a ground floor. We have tried all possible switches and nothing worked. 2.The staircase inside apartment is falling apart - the top platform is not attached to the wall properly and the railing is falling out of the wall. It is dangerous and not safe, as the stairs are very high and you might end up with someone being badly hurt or even dead. 3.Electric plugs have been taken out and the cables are sticking out. Also, there is a broken glass in the kitchen, towels have holes, showers are broken(water is shooting out of all places from the shower head in upstair shower, shower head downstairs is broken off). And there is no view of the roofs from the semicircle window - there is a view of the building site. They should update pictures on Booking.com and Airbnb They should not be renting out this apartment in this state of disrepair. Owner/manager of the apartment could not care less

Reviewed By 586ceriseMy husband booked this for us for two nights. It's a great place with a comfy bed, kitchen and washing machine. Only thing I would change is better curtains to block out the light. If you are a light sleeper bring a mask! It's a good distance from the main town and check in is really easy. I would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Härlig medeltida restaurang, Svenskporten i fina kvarter, jugendhus, Operan, chokladcaféet, Domkyrkan, alla torg och små mysiga smågator, Sky bar på Radisson ... Utmärkt resmål!!
